Title: Kevin Amankwah
Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, 12:19:50
Been superb second half of the season. Seems to be growing in confidence every week.

Agree with that, seems to have been excellent ever since Wilson came in.

He's got much better but I still would like him to be more aggressive to get to the first balls. To worry less about the man and concentrate on heading those long clearances away, he did it twice early on last night and they almost scored as he wasn't close enough and he wasn't challenging.

"Excellent since Wilson came in" might be an exageration but he has definatley improved.

Although it was a pretty bad level he has improved from

If its only 80 percent bollocks why do you continuously post 100 percent bollocks

Also it's more of a amusing tagline reflecting the irreverent attitude of the Tef, rather than an official guideline.

Amankwaah has been fucking ace this last month. I was constantly slating him first half of the season, thought he was utter dogshit. He's probably my favourite player now.

Pops up with the odd goal or two as well.

Apart from Huddersfield at home where he was awful was he that bad to start with, no.

Although he has certainly got better under Wilson, a manager that obviously rates him and has confidence in him. Which has been reflected in Big Kevs performances

I agree anyway. Amankwaah has been in superb form these past few months, and long may it continue! Does his contract expire at the end of the season? If so, extend it now!

I felt he performed well below his best last night,  however...He was caught out on a few occassions early on and his passin was a bit shoddy, but as the game went on, he got a lot better and made some good challenges.

Suuuuper, super Kev.................

Ditto, never thought i would say that about jerel, but he's been going backwards and is never going to improve (although if we get relegated keep)

I would say keep Jack Smith if he is happy to be an understudy. He is good cover for both sides. Again, keep Jerel if he is happy playing second fiddle. Peacock can go though.

Ifil and Smith are both worth keeping in the squad just not worth risking playing them together as both are not very good defnsivly when it comes to positioning.

The current back 4,im sure you will agree have looked a far more solid unit of late,we do not look like conceeding from set pieces and ther is a renewed confidence in the way they are playing.

Last night it was good to see Morrison talking to the players around him, 18 years old and playing like he has been playing for years.

Yup, past few weeks, I've actually felt reasonably confident when the ball's got in the last 3rd (our end) whereas before I'd have been bricking it whenever it came over the half way line. Greer and Vincent have obviously made a big difference, but like DRS says it's nice to see when Morrison does have an experienced head alongside him who's helping him along more that he looks a lot more comfortable and you have to remind yourself he's only a kid.
