This is interesting because I'm about the same size as the old boy. I've never had a day on the dole in my life. I've not had a day sick for over a year. My size is not hereditary - its my lifestyle - too much beer, food and too little exercise. If I was sacked tomorrow I'm confident I'd get another job even in this economic climate -although, I'd rather not put it to the test.
I'd like to know what their hereditary problem is and what they've attempted to do about it.

Well there obviously is a "fat gene" in female side of that family and is 22,000 for 4 adults really that excessive an income even if it is benefits?  

Also I think eating healthily is more expensive.Not because the actual food is more expensive  but because of waste,you also need to be able to shop every other day,which I dont have time to do although the fatty family dont have that excuse.Ive been trying to eat 5 a day for the last month and I find it bloody hard.I find it equally as impossible to drink the required amount of water.Funnily enough I wouldnt find it that hard to eat 5 packets of crisps and drink 5 pints of beer though. :)

Im a fatty but haven't always been, it just creeps up on you over the years.I try and live fairly healthily but it doesnt make any difference.I dont eat loads,I probably eat much less than I used to.I dont go to a gym or anything because I can't afford it and its mind numbingly boring ,but I do cycle to work and walk my Dogs for a minimum of an hour every day. Ive even drasticly cut my drinking and thats not helped either,so im going with the "fat gene" idea and sticking to it.

I'm with Jay on this, some ace points raised. I'm from a large family, in terms of proportion and me and my 2 little sisters have both had weight issues in our lives. I'm 5'11" and was once about 18 stone or so, i'm now about 12. I stopped drinking beer, ate healthily, stopped lying to myself and exercised. One of my sisters was 22 stone, she's 5'10" and she now weighs about 12 or so. My other sis was 18 stone and she's 5'8". She's now about 13 and still losing weight.

Both my little sisters used to say diets don't work etc., etc. No that's bollocks, you don't work at the diet and lie constantly to yourself and those around you. Stop eating shit, stop believing the shit you talk, get off your lazy arses, forget these rare genetic excuses and do something. Fuck me, help yourself for a change. Wake the fuck up, admit your problem and motivate yourself (which i know is very hard, but once going, it's easy).

 Nauru, for those not knowing is a guano based small tropical island in the Pacific.

 Guano, being rich in phosphate, was mined and the Nauruans became exceedingly wealthy....so ate loads. As the island is small anyway and the mining made it smaller, not a lot of room for exercise.

Mining has now stopped, so the Nauruans got paid for a bit, to sit around doing jackshit by the Aussies in return for taking a few asylum seekers off their hands as a sort of deterrent.

Now it's money laundering...or off shore banking as it's known.

Upshot is, that the Nauruans have the world's highest per capita levels of diabetes.
