Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Nemo on Friday, March 6, 2009, 19:57:10 On the bright side, this reduces the chance of them being able to definately relegate us.
Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Ardiles on Friday, March 6, 2009, 21:08:02 I am sure that probably entered in to their calculation.
We could very easily have our fate sealed that day...one way or the other. Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: glos_robin on Friday, March 6, 2009, 21:12:13 Reminds me of Gillingham last season we could effectively relegate them with a win so the game was moved to 12, hope we don't suffer the same outcome!
Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, March 6, 2009, 22:48:32 I hope the pubs are opening at 8am to compensate. If not I might just have to pull and all-nighter.

And if we are in the shit still it might actually help us to play before everyone else.

Lets hope we can send you down on that day to make up for the shitty kick off time. ;) If we do, I predict a pitch invasion from your lot! Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: herthab on Sunday, March 8, 2009, 10:19:46 True, will still be a good day though down at your place. The only reason the kick off's been changed is because of your moronic little chavs. I predict an invasion of fake burberry baseball caps and little boys in gangs wearing stone island and pretending to be really hard and scary. All gone quiet on that front lately. Genuinely interested as we too are looking to redevelop our current site in the next few years. Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: axs on Sunday, March 8, 2009, 10:58:50 I've been to at least 4 or 5 and never heard that phrase used. Not that we ever hear anything from your 'fans'.
Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: GoodnightIreneBRFC on Sunday, March 8, 2009, 11:01:28 Hello Bristol Rovers fan. What's happening with a new ground for you? All gone quiet on that front lately. Genuinely interested as we too are looking to redevelop our current site in the next few years. Hi. I'm not sure to be honest mate, at the moment, not alot! It's been put down to the 'credit crunch' which to me just seems like a handy coincidence, although I could be wrong and it is entirely down to that... I think our current problem is that we haven't found anyone to give us the materials we need and they're not sure as to whether the student accomodation that is due to be built at our new stadium will be bought up by students in this current financial climate. To be honest with you though, I would be more than happy if we didn't move as I love the atmosphere on the terraces, something we would obviously lose in a new, all seater stadium. Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: GoodnightIreneBRFC on Sunday, March 8, 2009, 11:02:44 I've been to at least 4 or 5 and never heard that phrase used. And i suppose you think that we hear your lot either home or away? Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Bennett on Sunday, March 8, 2009, 11:10:20 no i'm giving you a rationale as to why both sets of fans might not have heard each other, it works both ways if you think about it...

Of course. Having no roofs on the respective away ends doesn't help either...(although you do fill the away stand with a roof on it) Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: axs on Sunday, March 8, 2009, 11:31:51 It's got a kind of tent roof thing.
Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Bennett on Sunday, March 8, 2009, 11:38:25 a gazebo perhaps?

I have to say that was funny as hell - "Even Irene turned you down" Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, March 9, 2009, 11:06:38 ha ha ha that was funny - I loved his Vicky Pollard esque girlfriend too
That stand scares the bejesus out of me though - I will not be attending again until they replace it with a more sturdy structure! Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Luci on Monday, March 9, 2009, 11:49:05 Atmosphere at The Memorial? Are they having a laugh? I've just seen a pig fly past my window...
Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Panda Paws on Monday, March 9, 2009, 12:33:29 Possibly going straight after the game on train to see Friendly Fires gig in Bristol :o There playing Eastbourne Festival the night before, really wanna see them but not sure whether I can go and then get up and get back to swindon for 12 ko Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: DV on Monday, March 9, 2009, 13:10:55 Why is the TEF all of suddent attracking retards from other teams.
It only seems a few years ago Bristol Rovers were so far behind us we couldnt even see them. I still remember dicking them at their place with a Super Kevin Horlock perfect hat trick. Rovers wont send us down and if they do so what? they arent rivals, the only reason we have a slight dislike to them is because their fans are mindless thugs. Oxford, they arent... Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: DV on Monday, March 9, 2009, 13:13:29 ps. Irene is a slag and the inbred insult is probably the most stupid one in football. We have loads of out of Towners who moved here when due to the Railway works so we are probably one of the most unlikely places to be 'inbred' plus lets not forget all the poles and indians, unless sleeping with ones sister (no I havent got a sister) leads to having a polish child?
Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, March 9, 2009, 13:32:49 I think that's the biggest bite I've ever seen om the TEF. Well done Dan.
Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: DV on Monday, March 9, 2009, 13:37:58 I suppose the whole 'thisis - STFC Gazza's uncle is a lawyer you know' was a bit before you're time....now that was a bit and a half.
Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Spy on Monday, March 9, 2009, 13:51:35 How are rovers not local rivals??
Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: DV on Monday, March 9, 2009, 13:53:26 because Oxford are our rivals?
we dont sing anti Bristol Rovers songs, do we? Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Colin Todd on Monday, March 9, 2009, 14:01:28 bity mcbite bite says
you can have more than one. its not an exclusive relationsip you know Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Spy on Monday, March 9, 2009, 15:08:55 because Oxford are our rivals? we dont sing anti Bristol Rovers songs, do we? Are you actually from Swindon? Like Colin Todd says you can have more than one rival. Oxford are our number one rivals. But one of the great things about being an STFC supporter is we have lots of rivals. Oxford, Bristol City, Bristol Rovers are all local derbys. With the big police presence and all. Yeovil and Cheltenham are less so given we don't have such a history of playing them and they are smaller teams without the same confrontational support required for a proper derby atmosphere. Theres also rivalry with Gillingham, not all rivals are local. Many teams have more than one rival. Cardiff have Swansea as number 1 but also Bristol City for example. Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: Colin Todd on Monday, March 9, 2009, 15:32:42 Cheltenham dont have any support at all let alone a confrontational one

Title: Re: Brizzle Rovers Post by: GoodnightIreneBRFC on Monday, March 9, 2009, 16:08:28 We were loud as fuck earlier on in the season at yours and you know it. Maybe you were. But the acoustics at the Mem are rubbish and i was in the Blackthorn terrace and genuinely didn't hear you more than maybe 2 times. We were also very loud in the game v you but then you say that you didn't hear us either.... The Mem is like that. It's shit at carrying noise.
