Title: Peacock Done For The Season
Post by: STFC_Gazza on Friday, March 6, 2009, 08:21:21
Good news this... wish him a speedy recovery but he has been pants this season, hopefully it was the back injury that affected him this season!

Hopefully he can over come the injury then

Not sure I like the idea of him returning as a striker though

Another player Malpas has fucked up for good.

Even if he was fit.

How did MM fuck up Peacock?

Moving him back to a striker, when he should have been learning his new trade as a midfielder.

Or even a centre back.

To be fair it looks like Brezovan and Ifil will recover from Malpas. Whereas Easton and Peacock wont.

His first game in charge was Nottingham Forest 2-1 to us.

Our central midfield was Easton and Peacock and we ran them into the ground (our preferred pairing all season).

Within a month we had Peacock in the reserves as the 3rd striker and Easton as a right winger. Neither have looked like first team players since.

He'll make a good number two. He does and says whatever he's told.

Finnished as a player though.

He was finished as a player quite a while ago.

And he never had what it took to be a midfielder.  Watch the bloke at set pieces, he never wants the ball, he hasn't got the pace, the agility or the intelligence to be a first team midfielder.

this is what really pisses me off about our fans. So quick to turn on people and such short term memory.

'he never had what it took to be a midfielder'

Did you miss the whole of last season? As Spencer said our central midfield last season for the most part was Peacock and Easton and guess what we did alright last season. We were certainly better last season than we have been this season without Peacock and Easton in midfield.

Sure, Peacock has looked past it and like hes gone on a year too long this year. He has done nothing this season but lets not pretend he was always this bad and has never done anything positive for us, or never had a good game because thats bullshit.

Last seasons Lee Peacock and Craig Easton would not only walk into this seasons side but they'd be the best two fucking players

he is very charismatic, and this is why he is overated.but he did do pretty well in centre mid last year in fairness.that said his interviews are bollocks, as he goes with whatever at the time.

Good at video games though.

In the summer he finished top 5 in an international online competition in some game, can't remember which one it was but if you ask him he'll tell you.

i don't think he played that immense a part in us being mid table though.

he's been massively over rated

End of the day he's been with us 3 years and he's tried his best for the club.

I know fans are all cold hearted cynics nowadays in this era of money obsessed football. But surely the bloke deserves some respect and credit?

Im sure that lazy piss head student DMR will wake up soon and slag him off!

decent player, nothing more. nevertheless, he's never been anything other than 100% committed when playing for the town and you can't say the same for some of the more talented players we've had over the past few years.

i don't think being shifted around position wise has helped him much either.

That's Corr and Peacock who soldiered along too long. Peacock deserves a lot of credit for heart and loyalty.
