I have regressed. My phone is an old nokia that only sends txt, makes calls, has snakes and that is about it!

fed up with all the shit on moderen phones. Why would I wanna view the web on my mobile I can't wank and walk at the same time ( I struggle to walk and talk). I don't wanna twitter while I'm on the bus or poke my mates! Why do people feel the constant need to "be in contact" what happened to just sitting quitely by ones self?

I have a phone.  It can phone people.  People can phone it. Hence the name phone.

To quote a far cleverer and funnier person than myself: "No, I'm not interested in watching TV on my phone.  I have a TV.  It's the same reason that I'm not interested in having a piss in my tumble dryer."

What has pissing in your tumble dryer got to do with it? Im surprised with the latest technology they haven't thought this idea up? Maybe its got something to do with the fact that nobody wants a tumbletoilet™ and i dont know, maybe they like the idea of watching the footie on their mobile! Just a hunch!

I'm now due an upgrade. I want something semi-decent at playing music and I'm not getting an iPhone.

Has anyone used an LG renoir? Any particular niggles they wish to share?

Quite like the look of the Sony C905 but given the shitness of the k850i I currently own I might stay away from Sony this time.

I had a look at phones today and spoke to O2. They told me to hang fire for a few weeks until the Samsung Tocco Ultra comes out. Had a look online and it does look like a quality geek toy.

I got my c905 a couple of weeks back as I was told they hadn't had any problems with it. Was working fine until the down button on the navigation pad got sticky, which I've since found out is a common problem. I thought I would be clever and try and use contact cleaner but it's got into the screen and messed it up. Put it in the airing cupboard overnight but it doesn't appear to have done much so I'm going to claim on the insurance.

Should have just waited until the weekend and swapped it/repaired it that way because now I have to pay an excess  ::)

I have a Nokia N95. It comes with some unique features such as:

* The ability to switch itself off for no reason during calls sometimes.
* The ability for it to completely freeze during composing a text message.
* The ability to refuse to let you turn it off, so you have to remove the battery to do so.

I can safely say I'll not be using another Nokia when my contract is due an upgrade.

I've only had sony ericsson's for the last 4 years and the only problem I've had with any of them was when I smashed it against a hard floor and it wouldn't start but I found some free software which fixed it by just plugging the usb cable in and resetting the phone. Apart from that they've all worked really well. Only nokia's I had were two 3410's and apart from being shit they both broke within a few weeks.

I just got a cheque for over £110 for mine thanks to one of those phone recycling sites. Best thing for it. Worst phone I've ever had.

The 5800 is alright though, apart from not being able to text on it with man thumbs.

iPhone should be free next month on 02. Hooray!

Glad I'm not the only one having these problems with the N95!  Mine also has the new ability for the back to randomly fall off the phone and the battery to fall out!!!  It is now held together by blu-tac (classy!)!  Got another 4 months with it before i'm eligible for an upgrade!

I just had a look and can get £145 for mine. With only 5 months left on my contract that's enough to sell it, pay off the contract and then get an iPhone. Hmm... decisions.

Nope, mine was it's predecessor - the silver one. A colleague has the black one and has had none of the problems.

I just feel sorry for the poor African blighter who gets my recycled one... his WAP access will be limited by the poor battery life I can tell you.

My mobile ended up dead when I was hilariously pushed into the pool - sent to Samsung to get fixed. Came back, worked for 3 days and now always acts as if the battery is dead.

Now, when I put the charger in, it acts as if it is charging and when I turn it on, it goes on for like 15 seconds and then the screen flashes white and it goes back to the start again. Bizarrely enough, when I take the battery out, this still happens. Surely with the battery out of the phone it shouldn't be on at all, even with the charger plugged in?

Mine is the old silver version which was fine for the first couple of months or so then the problems started. Downloaded all the relavent updates for it which, if anything seemed to make the phone worse! Took it back to the Orange shop in town who sent it back for repair. Came back all working fine... a few weeks later its back to how it was! The problems with the first N95 are extremely common, hence the quick replacement of it by the new model.

My advice would be too stay clear of the silver N95 no matter how cheap you can get one, they all have problems and the battery life of a butterfly.

Couple of things to try with the N95.  Change the WAP settings so it only connects when needed not when available.  No idea why this is the default setting but your battery will get a bum raping especially if your coverage is patchy.

In addition if you’re flicking between 2G and 3G coverage fire it down to 2G (GSM) only under network settings as this will again arse rape the battery as it’s performing twice the amount of work switching between networks.
