Title: Lloyd Owusu
Post by: DV on Monday, March 2, 2009, 17:38:05
Sorry to go a bit old school scot munroe on you but Cheltenham striker and top scorer(?) Lloyd Owusu has left them today....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/brighton/7919707.stm

....he's gone to Brighton who have Matt Heath from Colchester on the way

Thats Cheltenham clearly fucked as they were anyway but I dont like the idea of Brighton improving their squad whilst right now we arent...

Brighton have a player in intensive care, and also that prick Virgo has a 5 game suspension.

They are playing away at Bristol Rovers tomorrow night. Here's to a Lambert hat-trick.

thats a good point, Nicky Forster is also currently injured.

Still dont like the idea, if Brighton put together a win or 2 and Hereford keep going the way they are....as do we it will be alot closer than I thought

Owusu may be a journeyman, but I think he's a good addition for Brighton. Unfortunately.

Still, one less problem for us tomorrow. Looks like they are preparing for division 4 at a rate of knots. Can't see Allen surviving much longer - assuming they can find a 'mutual consent' way to get rid at less cost that keeping him.

It is getting towards that time of the year where I start wanting people who I hate to do well. e.g. Bristol Rovers and yer man Rickie Lambert, vs Brighton and then Hereford.

Also see; Dean Windass in the Play-Off Final.

Apparently Owusu will be the first of many out the door.

They think Damien Spencer will be gone today as well. They cant afford to sack Allen and pay him off. They mega rich guy who has made up the short fall for years left his involvment a few months back supposedly because of Allen.

I cant stand them because their fans someone how think we are their rivals, their greatest acheivement is taking 6 points off us in a season they still went down but they seem to be going down shit creek fast.

I hope all those who wanted us to get Martin Allen (yes, one of them was you Bart!) are aware they are fucking stupid :)

I remember the watch 'Cheltenham climb the league' talk - Crazy.

They may beat us tomorrow but they're still going down and won't return for a while.

We must take advantage of their current situation.... Please.

Even I said he could do okay :D - but my emphasis on could has saved me. Reg, you always knew he was shite so well done :)

There was one by bart after they signed Stuart Fleetwood on loan about how with Allen and a decent goal scorer they would climb up the table and be above us.

Of course that never happened and Fleetwood scored once...

Cheltenham really are in freefall. Makes tomorrow even more of a banana skin though.

Fleetwood - overrated and overhyped.

Allen - I said it all before. I think he'll do well for them but is a grade A cunt who will leave at the next better opportunity (much like all managers).

Half right then

I was one who thought Allen might do well here.

Of course, with the benefit of hindsight, definitely dodged a bullet there.......

Interesting Nerdboy...some come out with reputation unscathed, whilst others have egg on their faces.

 You've done good...

They won't achieve anything and will finish below us.

Naturally, myself being one of them...

the same fleetwood who got released by Hereford a few years back.....

we've got better strikers. Cheltenham are going no where.

the same Stuart Fleetwood who has played a whole 0 games and scored 0 goals at this level. Fucking brilliant, I wish we'd signed him instead of Simon Cox....

I disagree

Fleetwood is shit and his reputation is purely built on one purple patch in the conference.

Allen has achieved nothing in his managerial career and has been sacked or walked out from every job hes had

After some deep breathing I decided that I wouldn't risk it Reg. History will suggest that I made the wrong decision. Ho-Hum.

So, thats 3 players Brighton have bought in now Owusu, Heath and Bangora

I'm worried that the teams below us are hitting form and/or getting in more players and we're doing neither.

Although by all accounts Brighton have about 13 players out injured and Adam cunting Virgo suspended for 5 games.

The Brighton fans I know have pretty much given up, saturday was the final straw. 0-4 to crewe. watch there next attendance drop below 5000.

I remember Owusu scoring the winning goal for Brentford one season. I was sat in the Arkells next to their fans all doing that celebration he does where he mimes lifting something above his head.

He also scored the winner for Yeovil one season when I was there. Glad he's gone!

That's Slade, Gary Borrowdale (QPR left back) and ikkel Andersen (Reading keeper) in case anyone wondered.
