Please let them get relegated, please let them get relegated, please let them get relegated...

I hope they go down too. Dirty northern monkeys.

It took them ages to get out of Div3 when we were down there with them, and every year they spent loads of money and it got them nowhere (for a while at least.) Like a slightly more successful Bristol City.

Hull's history is wholly without any glory what-so-ever.

Bristol City's is slightly better, they won the Welsh FA Cup once.

Did you know 10 years ago they were bottom of the football league

YES I FUCKING KNOW, SKY MENTION IT EVERY TIME HULL CITY GET BOUGHT UP. WELL DONE YOU'VE HAD A SHIT LOAD OF CASH THROWN AT YOU AND YOU'VE MOVED UP THE LEAGUES.

Tell me, when we made it into the Premier League did Sky point out we were in Division 4 10 years previous every single fucking week?

I'd prefer to see ne of the big boys go down. Spurs or Newcastle would do.

If Newcastle went down too that would be hilarious and extemely satisfying.

And where are they now?  And where do we languish?

What? Why?

What? Why?
My thoughts exactly. FWIW, I totally agree with your post about them being City-esque. Can't say I particularly resent them for it though. I would....but Stoke, Reading, Fulham and possibly others have climbed to the Premiership following similar paths. It's too much work to hate them all.

I'm ambivalent about Hull...I like the way their fans wind up the scummers, when a few e years back and in the same league...they were giving them the old we'll win the league by Christmas bit.  They like to remind them of what really happened..

Also we've a decent record against them..

They did get uber fortunate in getting money from KC Communications and finding shed loads of glory hunters, which is a downside..

Also they've given Jimmy Bullard a 4 year conract on 40K a week and he's fucked, and so might they be.....fully expect them to fall away back down to L2 now, just hope we'renot still there in 4 years time.

Quite similar to us giving out massive, long contracts....I think they're down this year and won't go back up any time soon

The fact that they beat the Shitheads in the Play-off Final is enough reason to not hate them :)

Someone will take Bullard off their hands if they go down - probably one of the ones who go up

I think Micheal has several bets all involving Hull City to go down.

Title: Re: Hull City

It seems far too much of a coincidence that Fulham parted with one of their best players  just before he discovers the knee surgery thing. Fairplay Jimmy, helping bring the northern monkeys down.

I'm ambivalent about Hull...I like the way their fans wind up the scummers, when a few e years back and in the same league...they were giving them the old we'll win the league by Christmas bit.  They like to remind them of what really happened..

What really happened was Hull gave everyone the "we'll win the league by Christmas" bit every year for three seasons, and spent hundreds of thousands on players each year, then finally got promoted.

Also Peter Taylor was their manager and is an utter twat.

As long as Stoke City stay up I dont really care-but having said that I would be very pleased if Spurs went down,if only to nail the myth that Redknapp is a good manager

Good shout an d if they do wind the Scummers up then even better. So O*ford Fan what you're saying is that winning the league by X Mas wasn't even a Scummer original.

Would like to see Hull and Stoke stay up. Great fightback from Stoke yesterday at Villa.

It is going to be very tight at the bottom and relatively established Prem teams like Middlesborough and Blackburn have to be very careful.

Quite like Hull, have a few mates up there and they were very friendly last time I went up there. Probably because they'd just been promoted, but still.

Title: Re: Hull City

This is going to be close.

Hull's run-in is Sunderland (A), Liverpool (H), Villa (A), Stoke (H), Bolton (A), Man United (H).

I can only see 3 points there for them. All bets are on :)

Title: Re: Hull City
Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, April 12, 2009, 11:54:52
Thats ok. in reality they only need 3 more points to stay up.

I've a few Geordie mates, and I've been telling them for weeks, they'll stay up on the back of beating MBoro...I figured both Hull and Boro are that bad, they'll pick up no more points.

Title: Re: Hull City

But Newcastle are bad aswell. They can't defend for the life of them, and that won't change while collocini is in the team.

Title: Re: Hull City

the only way Newcastle will survive is if Shearer dusts of his old boots and gets out on that pitch

Shearer > Owen, Martins, Duff, Viduka, Carroll, etc

At least Hull's loss makes my trip to St. James' Park on Monday night a little bit more interesting!

I'm hoping goal mayhem a 4-3 or something - It's far more likely that I'll witness tense 1-0!

They don't concede too many...they may be shit, but they've a few players capable of doing something in a one off v the Smoggies, which is probably all they need.
