He hasnt spoke to the board for months apparently, would only speak to them through the LMA.

Apparently Martin Starnes is a bit of a fly in their ointment.

The fans never really took to him either.

Apparently he got frustrated through lack of cash to buy players, yet they have crowds of 4,000, so they're not going to have much to spend, so Slade needed a reality check.

Think they wished it could be Christmas every day.

Although I think that is maybe Wizzard and not Slade so that's not going to work!

Blimey! I thought this thread was going to be about how annoying their up-turn in form is. This could be excellent news for us.

National press are saying Steve "Too good for League 1" Cotterill is favourite, along with Leroy Rosenior and erm, Alan Pardew.

So it'll probably be none of them!

Whilst we are on the subject of local papers etc - WTF is going on with the ITV west news?? its now the West Country today and we now cover Cornwall and Devon so Plymouth and Exeter football now gets covered - even less about Town??

Its very random - I think I hate it

Didn't local ITV stations merge to cut costs?

Yeah we now get Meridian (we live in Swindon, mind) so I've got more chance of finding out what's happening to mex and Sussex than in my own town

Yes - Jed Pitman got made redundant

He told me they will mainly be focusing on Championship clubs now so City and Plymouth - no real interest in any of the others - plus no soccer night etc

There's only six league teams with this new coverage area... That's quite low considering a the size of the region.

But if we're honest - Bristol City would still get more coverage even if they were in L2!

They never have shown much of us, jumped on the first division/prem years waggon for a bit. The local paper where i lived (newbury) is worse they had us on the back page for a few years then switched to the plastics with nothing on us, i've refused to buy it since, anytime i go back.

The 03-04 season they had a fair bit of coverage. Had extended highlights of us at Plymouth.

We might as well accept that we will always loose out with the TV. No one covers us properly.

Terry Skiverton has been appointed manager of Yeovil.

Internal appointment, could be good...for us.

He's been appointed as player manager. Yeovil fans I know aren't too pleased, no experience and definitely the cheap option.

I hope he turns out to be shit. He's a pikey, gyppo wanker.

Title: Re: Yeovil win 4 in a row...
Post by: Rich Pullen on Thursday, February 19, 2009, 11:06:53
It's all very Brian Tinnion isn't it - "Mr. Chairman, Mr. Chairman, I can do a better job and on the cheap. Oh and I think all the players are with me too." The fact that they've appointed Nathan Jones, whose only other coaching experience is with their ladies team, as player/assistant manager probably suggests that this is more likely to fail majorly than be a success.

We need it to fail majorly.

Nathan Jones while at brighton shagged my friend, i met him, he was a total fucking twat of the absloute highest order. The sort of bloke you would cross the street to give a kicking to. i really hope they get relegated now.

Was that a male or female friend....I seem to remember him getting sent off at the CG, playing for BHA...didn't seem the brightest.

Every time I see this topic I keep meaning to photoshop up some sort of connect 4 game involving yeovil somehow, but I never get round to it and it's a bit late now it's 3 pages in. Can you all just imagine I did it straight away and it was quite amusing, although not quite laugh out loud funny?

There's a pub not too far away. Good enough for me.

The Arrow's about a 10 min walk, but I know what Spence means.

Yep, 17 regions to 9, 430 job losses and £40m saved. Tyne Tees region now covers Southern Scotland. You think covering Plymouth and Exeter is bad at least it's not Scottish football.
