Ryan Giggs is Welsh.

He captained England schoolboys, which I think is his point. At least Giggs changed to the country of his birth rather than go for glory.

Giggs is my favourite all time modern player..an inspiration on and off the pitch.

Ryan Giggs is Welsh.

No true taffy would ever play in an England Jersey. Period.

Go for glory?  Fuck me.....was he part Brazilian or French??

Didn't he only play for England Schoolboys because he was educated in England though? He would have never been allowed to play for England as he has no English ancestry. Either way the whole thing is a bit of a myth.

Less about Giggs more about Paul Scholes, he's ace

Scholes > Gerrard > Lampard - FACT!

Although after over a decade you'd think they would teach him how to tackle!

We have never been able to replace Scholes for England, or Shearer come to that.
Scholes would make a difference even now, but he decided to prolong his career by coming out of the international arena for England. Still plays in the even more competitive European Cup games for Man Utd, never quite been able to work than one out, oh well it was his choice, but country should always come first.

According to wikipedia his dad was born in wales, to a welsh mother and a sierra leon father, and represented wales at rugby league. So really it was between wales and sierra leon

If Ryan Giggs was on the left wing between 1996-2004 we would have been a whole lot more successful than we were. I think Trevor Sinclair got played there once or twice, was the real problem position for a decade...Thank god for Ashley Young.

...and the fact that Ryan Giggs was also born in Wales.

So - Vinne Jones, was more Welsh than Giggs because Jones is a Welsh name and Giggs is an English name!!

Some cunt on BBC3 just gave out the scores. I'd avoided them all day, so I could enjoy MOTD2.

Wanker.

Early night then, they are not worth watching.

Early night then, they are not worth watching.

Watching MOTD last night with a few friends we all remarked just how poor the standard of football was this weekend. Every goal (and there wasn't many) seemed to be scuffed, or a ricochet off a defenders arse.

Didn't Tony Cascarino invent a dead gran so he could play for them? The complete opposite of Stephen Ireland the other year, really...

Its a good answer....but not the one we're looking for!

Answer: Duke of Wellington was the only one to be born in Ireland (much to his ire!).
