Sorry Sutton, but i don't have any details except what is stated in the article.Does anybody know James Turner who bought the film? Perhaps he might agree to let the club make a copy? There was absolutely no need to mention Wedlock at all. Title: Re: Harold Fleming Film Discovery Post by: Reg Smeeton on Thursday, January 29, 2009, 17:09:55 There was absolutely no need to mention Wedlock at all. An over-rated institution...most Shitheads are born out of it... Title: Re: Harold Fleming Film Discovery Post by: Rich Pullen on Thursday, January 29, 2009, 17:14:23 My good lady still complains that they closed the Wedlocks pub outside their ground.
Title: Re: Harold Fleming Film Discovery Post by: jamesturner on Saturday, January 31, 2009, 18:19:11 With regards to the film of HAROLD FLEMING i am the James Turner who located the original 16m/m film which has now been transferred onto DVD.The original film and a copy of the DVD has been passed to Swindon Town Football Club. The original objective when i located the film was to preserve the archive film for the benefit of Swindon Town Football Club Museum which is planned sometime in the future. If there is sufficient demand for the film i can arrange for a limited number of copies. The DVD last for about 9 minutes. If you have an interest please E.mail me on [email protected].
I would anticipate the film would cost £10 plus p & p . Regards JAMES TURNER Title: Re: Harold Fleming Film Discovery Post by: leefer on Saturday, January 31, 2009, 19:12:01 Well done James..i will be getting my order in..you may be suprised by the demand for it....should imagine alot of fans would want a copy.
Ware did you locate the original...and i hope they gave you your tenner! Title: Re: Harold Fleming Film Discovery Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, January 31, 2009, 19:26:31 Would it not make more sense for it to be sold in the club shop? I reckon they'd shift a fair few
Title: Re: Harold Fleming Film Discovery Post by: Ardiles on Saturday, January 31, 2009, 19:37:13 I would prepare yourself for quite a few orders, James. Well done for locating the film. A brilliant find.
Title: Re: Harold Fleming Film Discovery Post by: jamesturner on Saturday, January 31, 2009, 20:52:41 The film was located on E.Bay in 16m/m format and was transferred frame by frame onto DVD.
There may be plans to sell a copy in the shop or it may be combined with other Swindon Town Archives in the future. The posting on this site was initially to guage the interest.Any profits from this initial sale will go towards purchasing further archives for the Swindon Town Museum and not for personal gain. Regards JAMES TURNER Title: Re: Harold Fleming Film Discovery Post by: suttonred on Saturday, January 31, 2009, 21:35:36 Well done James, keep up the good work, absolutely cracking find.
Title: Re: Harold Fleming Film Discovery Post by: Samdy Gray on Saturday, January 31, 2009, 21:43:08 I would anticipate the film would cost £10 plus p & p . A tenner a pop to burn a 9 minute DVD? 'Any profits from this initial sale will go towards purchasing further archives for the Swindon Town Museum and not for personal gain.' sounds fair enough to me.
