Title: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 18:04:58 Vincent starting. Let's hope he comes through the game unscathed, the sooner he's back in the first team the better.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: DV on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 18:07:16 he's been out a long time and is into his 30s. I dont expect he'll be fit enough/sharp enough to play in the first team any time soon.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 18:08:12 Plus he's not very good, certainly not the answer to our left back issues.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: DV on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 18:15:17 Well we didnt have left back issues last season when he was playing.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: stfctownenda on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 18:17:07 Plus he's not very good, certainly not the answer to our left back issues. Very very wrong, one of the best defenders at the club by a mile. Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: ron dodgers on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 18:17:47 he was ok
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: FlashGordon on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 18:19:17 quite liked him playing CB to be honest, looked better there
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: herthab on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 18:20:18 No good going forward and slow.
But good positional awareness and a good communicator. We miss him. Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 18:26:31 Just on my way to this. Yes i am mad
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: ronnie21 on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 20:19:05 Latest is 3-2 to us, triallist has scored! Also Kennedy and Allen.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 20:21:37 Chris Allen, I remember him.
Soon to be Callum Kennedy, I remember him. Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 20:22:00 Very very wrong, one of the best defenders at the club by a mile. [/quote Which when you think about it, doesn't mean very much, as they are all shite. Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 20:33:57 The french guy has scored again, maybe he is the new Sabin?
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Nemo on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 20:34:15 Callum Kennedy is captain in a team containing Vincent, which is interesting.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: DV on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:10:54 Just got bad, was a good game with 9 goals.
Vincent looked ok but was clearly rusty. 'Conceded' the penalty but was a poor decision in truth. P Smith did alright, as did Thompson. Morrison played well and was one of the better players. The defensive trailist was ok to start with he looked and played like Kanyuka but got a bit better as the game went on. Pretty strong and loved going through the back of their strikers. Macklin had a quiet game compared to how he usually is when i've seen him play. Did set up a goal thought. Nalis, harsh but the legs have gone he is done for. He couldnt even make an impression in this game. Chris Allen took his goal bloody well after a really weird/awful header to take him away from goal. Good passer of the ball but still looks 12, technically sound too small. Kennedy played left wing and scored a screamer and generally had a good game, if anyone sent out 'hey Danny pick me next game' message from their play is was probably Kennedy. Didnt see much of the ball second half. Joyce started off poor but did ok nothing special. Striker trailist actually looked very good, he put in a lot of effort, closed down the defenders and played really well with his back to goal. He won every header and those he flicked on, he flicked on to a red shirt. His touch to bring it out the air and bring it down was very good and as soon as he had passed the ball, he was turned and getting into the box right away. Good his first two goals really well and his third was an excellent finish. Its hard to describe the move but from the angle and the defender on the post there was only one place he could put it, and he did. Didnt tire either, so looked pretty fit dunno how much football he has played recently. Im aware it was only a reserve game but if I had to judge the two trailist purely on that game I'd keep them around and take another look or two at the defender and get the striker on a short term maybe month to month deal. Looks to be decent enough cover for Corr who wont be back this season. Unless of course he signs for Swansea tomorrow¬! Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: STFC_Gazza on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:17:10 Thanks for the review there DV was hoping someone was there. was going to pop down but didn't remember it was on until about 7:30. So the trialist striker to get a deal until the end of the season?
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:18:38 Cheers for that, i might even try to make the next one, as certainly sounds more exciting than the first team at the mo.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: DV on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:19:28 it was
bad boy adies reserve team army! Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: DV on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:20:43 also, half time vincent came off and casal came on.
the ball really didnt go down the left hand side at all 2nd half and apart from throw ins I dont Casal even got a touch!! Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: dell boy on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:21:09 Sounds good, question how strong a side did Swansea put out?
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Nemo on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:22:19 Konstantopoulous and Bauza are the only players mentioned in the adver report, but they're experienced hands.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: DV on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:24:08 I didnt get a team sheet and im not expert on their reserve/fringe players...
Their number 10 who scores 2 of their goals Bauza was good and was certainly a regular for them last season, probably this season two. Think it was 2-2 when we went off. I think Owain Tudor Jones who was linked with a move here played in midfield (poorly) and they had Dimitri Konstantopolopodoptoplos in goal Martinez was sat in the arkells stand and I expect Swansea have a fair few females who attend their games!!! Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: STFC_Gazza on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:28:12 I dont Casal even got a touch!! Can only be a good thing :) Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:30:34 Oh dear, just seen the pic of razak on the O/S. It's really the Boob, after a michael jackson stylee skin tint!
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: DV on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:35:49 I swear Morrison scored his goal before Razak got his 3rd?!
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: STFC_Gazza on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:37:51 Razak's pic on the OS makes him look like a sherman tank.

Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Barry Scott on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 21:43:17 Martinez was sat in the arkells stand and I expect Swansea have a fair few females who attend their games!!! Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: wheretherealredsare on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 22:01:32 This bloke from Haiti ... could be a problem as he's due in court for beating up a bank manager in Dover. Apparently while he was playing overseas he used to send his wages to an account in Barclays in Dover ready for when he came to try his luck here. He'd sent about 50,000 euros, which he reckoned would convert to about £48,000. Anyway, when he went to the bank to collect his dosh the cashier checked and told him he had £45,000. He got upset and asked to see the manager who explained the difference was down to fluctuations.
And that's when Hamdi lost his rag and said "fuck you English too!" and laid into the manager. Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Sippo on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 22:03:56 Him and Adie williams will be sorted then.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Nemo on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 22:04:51 Perhaps we're using the CPS as a scouting network? Joey Barton and Stevie G would do a job here I reckon.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: adje on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 22:07:23 Sounds like just the guy we need!
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: stfctownenda on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 23:13:49 Adie has got the players good at attacking and launching assaults.
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Bennett on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 23:24:24 who was that lanky portugese lad we had on trial a few pre seasons ago...i always thought he looked pretty handy with arieta (i think that was his name, fuck me my memory is bad)

Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Bennett on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 23:28:53 that's what i thought, thank you for being my memory simon
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: alanmayes on Saturday, January 24, 2009, 22:02:29 Martinez must just have been checking on the fitness and sharpness of his players, because he picked
Konstantopoulos in goal today (He made 3 fantastic 2nd half saves today) put Bauza and Tudor -Jones on the bench ,from those that played in the reserves the other night. Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Rich Pullen on Sunday, January 25, 2009, 01:08:56 Am I right in saying this joke may have generated a little bit more success if wheretherealredsare knew was Haiti was
Probably not actually because if he knew Haiti was in the Caribbean he probably wouldn't have done the joke in the first place (assuming Jan is right) ??? Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, January 25, 2009, 01:10:19 I was wondering that, is it supposed to be fuck u asians? That's what confused me.

Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: wheretherealredsare on Sunday, January 25, 2009, 14:46:28 Or it just could be Haitians, not Asians.... Thank you, kindred spirit. You just can't get the audiences nowadays. ::) Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: Rich Pullen on Sunday, January 25, 2009, 14:53:05 I stand by my previous post ;)
Title: Re: Reserves vs. Swansea Post by: wheretherealredsare on Sunday, January 25, 2009, 15:09:58 I agree Rich, but there's been fuck all to smile about on here recently so a little bit of comedic licence should be allowed.
And how long has Haiti been a part of a reindeer? |
