Title: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: herthab on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 12:09:22 No more King Of The Ling
Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: Bedford Red on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 12:32:29 He'd been there a long time, but they had been struggling this season, and felt it was time for a change.
Wonder what will happen to Super Sammy, he played the first half yesterday, don't think he's scored too many for them if any. Mick Harford thinks Orient won't extend his loan spell and he will return to Luton, but he wants to get him off the wage bill because he's one of the higher earners at Luton, so is hoping someone else will come in for him. He did say though that he could a job for them if no-one comes in for him. Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: herthab on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 12:38:15 SSP's stats at Orient aren't good to see: 14 games, no goals.
He was booed by their fans before the game yesterday. Can't see another club being interested in him with that record (and his 2K a week wages) Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: Bedford Red on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 12:42:27 They are not good stats, none of his are really since he left us.
If he could just get a couple of goals in a decent side the confidence would come back i'm sure, i think he got a few for Luton earlier in the season. Maybe going back and getting a few more would do him good, then get a move in the summer (knowing he wouldn't get the wages he is on now) Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: dell boy on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 12:56:58 Is there anyone left in a job who was linked with the managers job here?
Apart from Bryne who will probably go before the season is out. Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Richard Money's still at Newcastle. Were we in for Russell Slade or was that a rumour? Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: dell boy on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 13:14:54 Richard Money's still at Newcastle. Were we in for Russell Slade or was that a rumour? Not for long then, we are a jinx! Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: DV on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 14:06:25 lets sign Parkin, no goals in 14 games he'd come here and score with his first touch.
Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: Arriba on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 14:12:57 i feel sorry for super sam.he hasn't had much luck since leaving here.no goals in 14 games aint good.
i didn't get why people wanted ling here also. Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: Batch on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 16:00:27 To be fair, SSP didn't do too well at Northampton either. Why did they let him go.
Sadly I can' see him being the same player now after all his shitty injuries. ------ Ling - I guess it was coming. Heard Barry Hearn saying he had reached his sell by date a minute ago. I'd rather have Wilson than Ling TBH. Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 19:01:35 Leyton Orient, why did you let Sam Parkin go?
Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: yeo on Sunday, January 18, 2009, 19:05:44 i didn't get why people wanted ling here also. Nor me. I cant help but think Swindon being linked to Swindon is a a bit of a curse though. Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 13:41:36 Leyton Orient, why did you let Sam Parkin go? Could be playing for Luton tonight (because of cup-tied and injured players). It's sad that Parkin's career never progressed. http://www.lutontown.co.uk/page/PreMatchAnalysis/0,,10372~1524493,00.html Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 16:44:43 Let hope that he goes back to Luton and scores the goals for them and get's himself a move in the summer, shame it didn't work out at Orient though, maybe it is a blessing if he can score quite a few at Luton and get his confidence back he can stay in league football next season.
Title: Re: Martin Ling Sacked. Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 16:51:33 Sam is a proper hard worker - If he gets injured he puts in 110% until hes fully fit again
