Title: Swindon Animal Sanctuary
Post by: Fred Elliot on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, 10:32:36
http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/4042045.Sanctuary_takes_in_more_animals_as_times_get_tough/

The current roster of creatures at the sanctuary, which is funded and staffed entirely by volunteers, includes:

nine dogs
17 cats
16 pigs
four goats
a large contingent of former battery hens in need of peaceful retirement homes
two turkeys
two snakes
a peacock
Some rabbits.

I am just off to pick up a peacock

If Peacocks didnt make such annoying noises I would get one in an instant as they are so beautiful

Its so sad I really really dont understand how people could give up pets

Ill go and get the 17 cats

My old boss once had a hamster called Rommel.  There's no STFC connection there.  I mention it only because it's the best name for a hamster I'd ever heard.

My nan used to have a tortoise called Woodbine, the reason being that it would make a good ashtray when it died.

She also had a cat that one of my uncles named, he named it Protex and my nan never did quite catch on.
