Title: The Grove / harvester
Post by: chalkies_shorts on Saturday, January 10, 2009, 23:54:55
Went there this afternoon for a meal with wife and kids. Food crap to OK but by God was the service complete shit. I've only ever been in there a few times but they've never got enough people and those they do have are slower and even less cheerful than Aljofree. I just thuoght I'd share that with you good people.

It's only a wanky harvester on the main road, if you want good food and good service go to a proper bloody restaurant.

I wanted OK food and OK service. I know a few good places in Swindon. This was a last minute decision. I'd have been better off at Burger King but will know for next time.

Its a bit like Town, I expected ordinary - paid for that and get a lot less.

I went just before Xmas when the Kembrey Inn could not cope with an influx of six adults and three children.  Rang them, explained situation, they said if we came straight away (7 pm) they could find us a table.  Got there and was pleasantly surprised, food decent and service good - so good that the young waitress got a £15 tip from us!

I've been there a couple times and it's always been ok, that said that was before it was taken over and re-named the harvester so...

Last time we went, they served us frozen ribs. Literally frozen, as the chef served the wrong ones.

I've known people to get food poisoning from the salad bar.

The service at the harvester all depends on how busy it is.

It's always been fine for the times I've been in there. Good service although she looked rushed off her feet!

I wish, she was so young and innocent . . . . actually as it was my two daughters and their families I paid the bill, and the other two guys chucked in a tenner and a fiver respectively.  One meant to take the fiver out and just leave the tenner, but the silly sod forgot until she had taken it!!
