He's worked at Watford as youth team and first team coach as well.

So... Hockaday has Premiership experience (not in a managerial capacity), worked in the higher echelons of the Championship, in League 1, and maybe League 2, and does not have the 'wow' factor.

He fits the description perfectly.

 Think I'd prefer The Prof to DD....there'd be a wonderful irony in a former player signed by Ken Beamish becoming boss.

The giveaway is the 'might have league 2 experience' claim, because CC and DD definitely do, whereas Hockaday only did a third of a season down there with at Franchise.

If it's Hockaday it's going to feel like De Ja Vu. Not sure I can take another year of people moaning about lack of track records and anything else they can think of.

I feel the same I think it'll go down like a lead balloon with a fair few supporters. Unless he gets results quickly he'll soon be another dead man walking like Malpas was.

Of course it will... But that would've happened regardless. As a Swindon player he'll get a little bit more time than Malpas (I reckon anyway) did.

My worry is though, how many of our supporters will actually remember him at the club or even know much about him.
