Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: DV on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 16:04:20 fuck it, appoint them both and lets have two managers.
Perfect for when one leaves for a better club or gets sacked. Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: lambourn red on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 16:07:30 Too slow. Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: janaage on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 16:22:37 So in the space of 4 days we've gone from "we know our man" to "it's down to two". Got to admit I don't think AF & co have handled all this very well.

Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: juddie on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 16:32:05 of course it's down to two, that's what happens when you have a shortlist? they're speaking to all three and now the three's two, meaning we're closer to getting our man?
I don't get the beef? Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 16:32:41 of course it's down to two, that's what happens when you have a shortlist? they're speaking to all three and now the three's two, meaning we're closer to getting our man? I don't get the beef? Who did you interview today for the programme? Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: A Gent Orange on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 16:33:16 Or are you looking for inspiration for a new feature in the bottom of glass right now?
Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 16:34:57 of course it's down to two, that's what happens when you have a shortlist? they're speaking to all three and now the three's two, meaning we're closer to getting our man? I don't get the beef? I think it might be because the other day they announced they 'had their man'... and now it's 'down to 2'. Conflicting statements are a bit annoying. Quote Chief Executive Nick Watkins has confirmed the Club are down to the final two candidates in the selection process to find the man to take over as Manager of Swindon Town Football Club. Watkins and Director Jeremy Wray will speak with Chairman Andrew Fitton, currently in the United States, late this evening as they close in on the decision of the new manager. It is anticipated that an appointment will be made ahead of Saturday's visit of Yeovil Town with Watkins speaking to the media on Wednesday afternoon with the latest update. "The two candidates we have been speaking to are currently in work," he said. "We hope to be in a position on Thursday to speak to the Club concerned with a view to the selected candidate joining Swindon Town Football Club," Watkins said. "Throughout the process we have at all times remained committed to identifying the candidate who in our view can take this club forward and who over the next four to five years, can assist us is achieving our declared Championship objective. "The innate ability to manage, motivate, coach and inspire players, allied to first hand experience of operating at League One or Championship level as a minimum are essential attributes that the successful candidate must show." Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: juddie on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 16:43:16 have they ever said they had their man? I think they've admitted they know who their man is, which is completely different from being able to get their man.
I am interviewing Simon Cox. And no, he's not our new manager! Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 16:46:41 have they ever said they had their man? And no, he's not our new manager! http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/3974009.Fitton___We_know_our_man_/ Quote When asked if he had made a final decision following the interviews, Fitton told the Advertiser yesterday evening: “Ultimately, yes. “As it stands, we know who we want, and now it is just a case of whether we can get him. “Things change all the time, but I think we are very close to resolving the situation. Presumably the man was ruled out and we are on to plan B or C Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: juddie on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 16:51:27 COXY'S RED AND WHITE ARMY!

Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 19:07:11 I think this is where the extensive recruitment process may help us. If we can't get our original target at least we should get a decent backup option. If Fitton hadn't have found 4 managers he thought we're suitable we could have been at risk of doing a knee jerk reaction appointment and getting someone like Graeme Souness in.
Of course, if it's Souness then my rationale will be incredibly flawed. Title: Re: Then there were 2 Post by: pumbaa on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 20:33:23 COXY'S RED AND WHITE ARMY! OK, I'll do it....... |
