Chief executive Nick Watkins has confirmed there are still two candidates in the running to replace Maurice Malpas as the next Town manager.

Watkins and the Town board will conduct late night discussions tonight with chairman Andrew Fitton, currently on business in America, before making a final decision on who the next manager will be.

Providing there are no last minute hitches in terms of compensation, Swindon supporters will finally get the manager they have been waiting for after a five week wait.

The announcement could be on Thursday but Watkins hinted it is more likely to be on Friday, with all those unsuccessful candidates who applied for the Town job, still to be contacted.

The point DV is that the candidates are IN work.  Free agents maybe but would be unsettling for their current clubs if their names were released and then not appointed.
