If one of your predictions died. Well Done! The amount of points you get depends on their age. You get a point for how long they've got until they would have hit 100. So 100 - [age at death] points. A Rachel Stevens is worth 5 Christopher Lee's.

Don't go predicting loads of people with terminal illnesses though. You'll only get a tenth of the points. Of course you only get this penalty if the illness is known about before the new year. This includes stuff like being held hostage, being a political prisoner in a dodgy nation, on death row etc. My decision is final.

They have to die in 2009! If someone on your lists doesn't make it to the new year then  PM me and change them for someone else. Bit unlucky, but you'll get no points for '08 deaths.

If anybody is found to be involved in the deaths of somebody on their  list then they'll be banned from the game

You can make as many alterations, swaps, changes to your list until the clock turns over into '09, Just PM me. After that your lists are final.

PM me your lists, don't post them in here. Everybody's lists will stay secret until '09 when I'll post them all up here and we can check along together and admire each others top ideas. Fun Times.

It's up to you how you want to balance your lists. You can go for 10 unlikely youngsters in the hope of hitting the jackpot, or more likely oldies, or even a a guaranteed few points from terminals. Do what you want.

Oh yeah. You can post any questions in here, if I haven't been clear on something.

midnight December 31st. You can make any changes, additions and subtractions to your list up until the clock starts going and everybody's off trying to bump into that fit bird they were chatting to in the hope of a snog.

Once 2009 starts the predictions go live.

Does that mean that if you pick 10 people over 100 then you can end on minus points?

E.g. Harry Patch (the last Tommy) who is 110 technically you will get -10 points?

We should get bonus points for rarer selections, cos lets face it, nobody at the moment is leaving off Winehouse and/or Docherty.

I did think about that, but the bonus is that you'll get points and nobody else will.

Yeah wikipedia page is what I was going with. I'll see through it if someone tries to create one for their great gran or something though.

Going through everybody's lists and making terminal judgements now is a bit too much hard work. I'll just do it as they die (check dates on reports of when it was known they had a terminal illness etc.). If you're unsure and it's a make or break on whether you put them on your list, then PM me and I'll make a judgement now. I'm pretty sure that all the obvious ones are pretty obvious though.

Remember they're not voided, you just only get 1/10 the points you would otherwise. Might be a good way of picking up an easy few.

I'm quite impressed so far, there's quite a range of different entries. I was worried everybody would go for the same people. There are a few people who appear on lots of lists, but they generally weren't who I expected too. Fascinating stuff.

I wonder if peoples guesses are an insight to their personalities. Probably.

I've strategised my predictions. Nobody too old because you lose out on points, but nobody too young and unrealistic (apart from one wildcard). Most of my predictions are in their fifties and sixties so should see some nice pointage if/when they snuff it.

But I read and interview with her and although she had a history of ovarian cancer in her family and had been having womens problems she ingored letters asking her to go in for a smear test and never went - by the time she actually did it was too late

A close friend of my gf has cancer of the liver, it's not looking good for her at all.  It's not nice at all, esepcially for someone in their 20's.  I couldn't care less if JG goes on the TV to tell people about her ordeal, the girl doesn't have that long to live.

Flipping heck some people on here need to get a sense of humanity, all very well slagging people off all the time, but a bit of compassion from time to time wouldn't go a miss.

How terminal was this when it was reported last year? Just in case I have to make a judgement.

It's going to be pretty rough for her, and her kids. Horrible thing to happen to anyone.

As much as i find it sad for her, i can't help thinking it'd be more dignified if she didnt try and cash in on it and concentrated on trying 100% to fight it and enjoy time with her loved ones.

Plus i can't stand her face and so had to forgo the Sun for today.

I agree. I've not watched or read much about it. But whether you agree or not, she is in the public eye and the type of people that do read and watch this stuff are perhaps uneducated in such matters so it is a good thing, and at least she will have some money to know her kids will be looked after.

I've always found her annoying and now for some reason, which i can't truly explain, i feel really sad for her. Perhaps i feel more for her kid/s, or maybe i just feel bad for disliking her. I think any publicity for cancer, especially if this was the result of a missed smear test, is a good thing. Good on her i say.

Agreed, especially considering the shit cards she's been dealt with in life. There's always that Big Brother 'racist' thing, but Danielle in my opinion was far worse but hey she's slightly better looking and has big tits so got away with it.
