Don't know if he'll be able to help with the fish thing though. Title: Re: Any fish hobbyists? Post by: Nemo on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 14:14:46 My Dad's very into it and I've done a little. Tropical or Marine fish?

Title: Re: Any fish hobbyists? Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 14:20:38 sam either jardinere by j 16 or wyvale in stratton have good aquatic departments.
what i'd reccomend though is to get a book or two from the library and buy second hand.there is plenty of gear available out there Title: Re: Any fish hobbyists? Post by: Nemo on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 14:27:04 What does a non marine fish look like? A bit more orange. It tastes a lot less salty which is the main difference, and it will be a lot warmer. Tropicals wise, get ye to Hinton Parva. Title: Re: Any fish hobbyists? Post by: Sussex on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 14:27:32 Probably best to speak to Bennett for fish type stuff Sam. Been reading up online for a few days so I'm up to speed with whats needed to get going, get the tank cycling etc. I'm already planning on buying a second hand tank, but would prefer to buy new gravel and ornaments etc. Title: Re: Any fish hobbyists? Post by: ronnie21 on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 15:37:16 Got to agree with Nemo, the best place in the Swindon area for fish is the Water Garden at Hinton Parva. A family-run business (the Newmans) - not the cheapest but plenty of good impartial advice. Best place for fried fish is in York Road (before somebody else adds it!)

And as you agreed with me, I'll agree with the second part, cracking fish and chips. Although they charge for Ketchup now which gets on my nerves. Title: Re: Any fish hobbyists? Maidenhead aquatics are OK, I've got fish from there that are still alive (it's in cheney manor btw). Title: Re: Any fish hobbyists? Post by: nevillew on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 08:50:24 Is there a fair on somewhere ? - good source of goldfish, and plastic flexible aquaria
Title: Re: Any fish hobbyists? Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 08:56:39 Is there a fair on somewhere ? - good source of goldfish, and plastic flexible aquaria I won a goldfish at a fair in Wantage as a nipper (a small child, not a Japanese person) and my dad was dismayed to see it live for years!! I don't think you can get live goldfish at fairs anymore as it is probably regarded as cruel! Title: Re: Any fish hobbyists?
