Both a nightmare, havent decided which one I will go to yet.  Montpelier is closer by a long way and you also avoid all rovers main pubs which you will want to do

Can't remember which one we got off at the other year but it was the one with all the main Rovers Pubs on. :/

It's about the same - Filton Abbey Wood is 2 miles, Montpelier is 1.8 miles - but the latter is uphill all the way there.

I'd argue if you avoid Gloucester Rd and go the back way from Montpelier it's the much quieter route - avoid all the Gasheads etc.

When Wovers were at Eastvile, it used to be Stapleton Road.

Now known locally as Crackhead Alley and recently announced as the most dangerous road in Britain...in terms of crime figures.  So I'd give that a miss if I were you.

I'd be tempted to go to Montpelier, mostly because I know how to get to the ground from there.

We did Montpelier last time, bit of a walk but found a nice pub on the main road on the way.

I think it could be done up to make it a bit more comfortable than the accommodation for illegals....illegals would turn their nose up at some of teh First GW I've been on.

Bit like dried peas on a drum....perhaps it's not such a good idea  :)

when we went in the promotion year we got the train to Filton Abbey Wood and walked down Filton Avenue which runs parallel to Gloucester Road and avoids all the Rovers fans and The John Cabot pub which is where their hooligans drink. takes you directly to the ground

How much should these tickets be costing me? FGW site is coming up about 11 quid each, any cheaper splitting it or anything?

Try return to Temple Meads and then again from Temple Meads to Montpelier.

I've always gone by car to rovers. Always park in a side street off Gloucester rd, and never seen any trouble.

What's the betting I now get a kicking on Saturday?

Well I'll be in the car, if I get to Gloucester Rd before you, I'll hide in the bushes and give you a shoeing when you arrive.  If you want.
