Title: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 10:09:19 ....Shiton has gone let's move on.
Difficult one to call, Brighton have been very strange this season. It was only as recently as a couple of weeks back, that they recorded their first home win, when they beat both Leicester and Millwall. Before this they failed to beat Hereford and lost to 9 man Walsall. On the road though their form has been decent. They had a spell where goals were difficult to come by and Forster seems to be missing. The upturn in form coincided with teh acquisition on loan of Bradley Johnson from Leeds, but he will be cup tied :). Which brings me to the V word and P word. Although none of the players were involved in 04...the sign of the zodiac, has returned to the Withdean....is this a portent of doom. Penalties it is then... Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 10:28:47 It's a must game win. The difference between winning the Football League Trophy and not may be keeping Cox or selling him on in the summer.
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: suttonred on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 10:51:35 Doesn't matter if we scrape through, the way we're playing Shrewsbury will tonk us like they have everyone else in this competition so far.
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 11:46:10 Hope im wrong but not confident. Financially this could be the costliest week of our season
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: leefer on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 11:48:38 Well they let in 3 yesterday and 4 in midweek to Derby....so if we go and attack we have a squeak.
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: STFC_Gazza on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 11:57:18 I want to get to this game now but 2 problems, can I get the time off work, and how do I get there?
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: dell boy on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 12:00:56 I want to get to this game now but 2 problems, can I get the time off work, and how do I get there? Go sick, catch a train!!! Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Batch on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 12:08:57 This game could make or break the season from a fan point of view. I don't think we will go down, but never say never, then there is little left to look forward to. Barring an unprecedented winning streak marching us towards the playoff contention :).
That's not progress from last year is it. As for the game itself, I am not confident but maybe one or two things are in our favour. The players will be looking to put things right after yesterdays car crash of a game. We are away from home which gives more more confidence than playing at the CG! Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: STFC_Gazza on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 12:12:11 I am confident of a 3-1 drubbing.... who gets the 3 is anyone's guess though! :)
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 12:12:43 We will finish in the play-offs come may.
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 12:41:26 2012

Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 12:56:07 We getting a new manager and half a new team then
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 12:59:19 donny didn't change manager last season
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 13:02:36 I know i am implying unless we do though we wont do a donny
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 13:03:21 oh i see. You may be right, my blind optimism says otherwise
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 13:04:41 I had that until 2 months ago
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: DV on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 13:26:29 Doesn't matter if we scrape through, the way we're playing Shrewsbury will tonk us like they have everyone else in this competition so far. Yeah Shrewsbury looked un stopable yesterday! As for this game I'm not really fussed I think the piss poor paint pot is a complete waste of time but can fully understand the financial rewards it may bring. Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 13:50:17 I think its very important dv. If we go out the season is basically over. As soon as the players start thinking that then we could be in for a very bad few months.
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: DV on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 14:00:20 Possibly, but then we were out all the cups by January last season and its usually like that every season.
Its not like this will be the first season where we dont have a cup run, infact if we win Wednesday then our progression in the piss poor paint pot is probably our longest cup run for about 5 years! Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 14:06:08 And last season we were very close to being in a scrap. Hope im wrong dv but as yesterday proved i do not think we have the players or managment who have the bollocks to scrap our way out of it. November is a massive month for us
Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 15:05:51 And last season we were very close to being in a scrap. Hope im wrong dv but as yesterday proved i do not think we have the players or managment who have the bollocks to scrap our way out of it. November is a massive month for us Think part of the reason for an upturn of form, is the players looked at the table, could see a relegation scrap ahead, so decided to put in a bit of effort. Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 15:50:29 Yep think you are right reg a few will be playing for contracts this summer. On the brighton subject i wonder what defensive change he will make no doubt it will be kanyuke

Title: Re: Moving on to Brighton... Post by: pauld on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, 12:25:26 There's no such thing as a re-curse. Of course there is, the act of so doing is recursion and one who often does it may be described as recursiveTitle: Re: Moving on to Brighton...
