  Difficult one to call, Brighton have been very strange this season.

  It was only as recently as a couple of weeks back, that they recorded their first home win,  when they beat both Leicester and  Millwall. Before this they failed to beat Hereford and lost to 9 man Walsall.

  On the road though their form has been decent.  They had a spell where goals were difficult to come by and Forster seems to be missing. The upturn in form coincided with teh acquisition on loan of Bradley Johnson from Leeds, but he will be cup tied  :).

 Which brings me to the V word and P word.

 Although none of the players were involved in 04...the sign of the zodiac, has returned to the Withdean....is this a portent of doom.

 Penalties it is then...

It's a must game win. The difference between winning the Football League Trophy and not may be keeping Cox or selling him on in the summer.

Doesn't matter if we scrape through, the way we're playing Shrewsbury will tonk us like they have everyone else in this competition so far.

Hope im wrong but not confident. Financially this could be the costliest week of our season

Well they let in 3 yesterday and 4 in midweek to Derby....so if we go and attack we have a squeak.

I want to get to this game now but 2 problems, can I get the time off work, and how do I get there?

This game could make or break the season from a fan point of view. I don't think we will go down, but never say never, then there is little left to look forward to. Barring an unprecedented winning streak marching us towards the playoff contention :).

That's not progress from last year is it.

As for the game itself, I am not confident but maybe one or two things are in our favour. The players will be looking to put things right after yesterdays car crash of a game. We are away from home which gives more more confidence than playing at the CG!

I am confident of a 3-1 drubbing.... who gets the 3 is anyone's guess though! :)

Yeah Shrewsbury looked un stopable yesterday!

As for this game I'm not really fussed I think the piss poor paint pot is a complete waste of time but can fully understand the financial rewards it may bring.

I think its very important dv. If we go out the season is basically over. As soon as the players start thinking that then we could be in for a very bad few months.

Possibly, but then we were out all the cups by January last season and its usually like that every season.

Its not like this will be the first season where we dont have a cup run, infact if we win Wednesday then our progression in the piss poor paint pot is probably our longest cup run for about 5 years!

And last season we were very close to being in a scrap. Hope im wrong dv but as yesterday proved i do not think we have the players or managment who have the bollocks to scrap our way out of it. November is a massive month for us

 Think part of the reason for an upturn of form, is the players looked at the table, could see a relegation scrap ahead, so decided to put in a bit of effort.

Apparently the match against Shrewsbury is live on Sky on Dec 12th.  So even if we do produce a miracle and beat Brighton away we will lose the next round because it's live on the box!
