I've always hated Wenger, but still think he is one of the best managers the Premier has ever had, very shrewd with his signings amd when they are on their game no better side to watch. All I'll say is I agree his team play good football (the prettiest to watch) but what good is that without success. It can only carry you so far. And success is how most people judge greatness. I think secretly Wenger knows he is a shit manager. The only reason he's still in the job is that he has assembled a UEFA cup team on a shoestring; he thinks that if he really went for it and made the couple of signings that would elevate a normal team into the top three, then the team would still do badly but the board would have justification to sack him because he'd wasted their money. |
