It'll only be a flop if England don't trouser teh $.  The ECB, only went into it as a way of keeping our centrally contracted players away from the IPL.

So is this the final tonight?

were there other teams in it?

I've really not been paying attention.

Don't worry, you're not alone.  It's a pointless exercise.  Means something for the lucky XI who will pick up the cash, but bugger all for cricket fans.  This is not the future of cricket.

yeah, only heard bad things about it so didn't bother following it.

anyone answer either of the questions?

other teams were Trinadad and Tobago and Middlesex. Not really a final tonight it is the $20m game between the Stanford superstars and England. England are 19-1 of 3 and bit overs.

how rubbish. sounds like a few random matches so a randy old rich man can get some wags to sit on his knee and a bit of attention.

I hope none of them bought new houses recently.

has a team ever failed to reach a ton in twenty20?

Aussies against england made about 70 odd at the rose bowl in 2005.

Can you imagine how they must be feeling now?

'I let my pregnant wife sit on that man's lap, just so I could have a pop at winning $1 million.'

Oh.

And it's all over.  And you know what, I'm happy they lost. The money will mean a whole lot more to the Windies to start with, but the whole things just been a farce.

fair play to the west indian kids, they deserve the money. the sad thing is that the money will mean more to them than any cricketing achievement.

that wasn't a game of cricket tonight.

I used to like T20 but there is no ebb and flow in this form of cricket at all.

I also think that we missed Jimmy A big time today. He can bowl, field and of late has become an awesome bat :)

By the way, I didn't see any of the game, I am just basing my opinion on the result :)

Bowling was't really the issue, by the time only Patel had managed to get into double figures in our innings the bowling was irrelevant.

Totally boring game of 20/20, wasted a Saturday night watching that rubbish, so called top class batsman trying to force the issue early and having their leg stump knocked out of the ground, should really take a long hard look at their technique, this 20/20 will really kill the test batsmen of the future.
With the amount of talent we had out last night with the bat, a steady first five overs and then go for it would have made a lot of sense, not once were the young WI under pressure.

The whole thing was a farce from start to finish including last nights game. The English players had mentally banked the money forgetting they had to beat a decent team on their own patch. Stamford is an absolute fucking chancer. The ECB should be ashamed of themselves as they have acted like pimps and the England players like high class hookers.
It should never have been an England team - a Pietersen XI maybe.
Yet again our cricketers are chokers.
To hear Collingwood say he's never felt under so much pressure is a bit of a pisser from someone who has played in Ashes series.
This has done absolutely nobody any favours others than the Stamford Superstars.

Apparently Mr Stamford has done a runner since the fraud allegations came out.

Good old boy!

So would I if I'd defrauded people to the tune of £5 billion.

How nobody got sniff of this earlier is astounding, considering they used some two-bit Antiguan accountant to audit $50 billion accounts.

Rod Bransgrove is advocating the returning of the Stanford's money. Bransgrove was always against T20 was he not?

If Bransgrove becomes a member of the ECB hierarchy I imagine the T20 push will end quickly.

It's a bit like Robert Maxwell, if you make your fraud so big, and compromise a few politicians along the way, then you stand more chance of getting away with it.

Dear old Brain Hillier, got a year at Her Majesty's Pleasure, and STFC a demotion for a piddly bit of dodgy dealing.....Maxwell got nothing and the scum got nothing for funding their success on the back of embezzled funds.

Madoff used exactly the same tactic.  (His lot weren't Antiguan though.)

Actually the books were audited by a single handed practice in Enfield of all places.

Niothing dodgy there then.

More heads will have to roll at the ECB for this.

Thank God we didnt begin a league totally reliant on his money!
