Just about to tuck into a huge slice of the above.

I've slated LP and MP for many a month/season now but after the last 3 matches it seems (touches wood) that these two are going to prove me wrong.  I've always thought that despite LP trying hard he didn't have what it took to be a success in the first team at this level, his energy and effort has been second to none, love the way he got involved with the Hasney/Lee Hughes incident and then took over marking duties on the jail bird.

Pookie, at last, seems to be concentrating on breaking up play, and then playing the simple ball.  Loved it when he got the ball from a deep cross and instead of just smashing it back into the box like he used to do he got the ball down waited and then laid it off nice and simple to Jack Smith to put a decent ball into the box.

I do wonder how much his form is down to wanting a new contract but I hope it continues for the foreseeable, as if he carries on like this he'll be an important player in our starting line up.

Malpas definitely seemed to have lucked into a formation that works as a team, where as previously we had better/more skillful players (arguably) that were so disjointed and lightweight. And you have to say the driving force is the energy levels of Pook and Peacock. Though Timlin also does his bit at left back.

Too early to say whether this will last. But they have been superb so far!

Agree with this.  peacock and pooks recent perfoamcnes have been key to the (invented word alert) Re-Sturrockification of our team

Yeah Timlin deserves a mention too, although I've always rated him.  it's nice to see an ex-prem player just knuckle down and get on with it at such a shite position, (i.e. left back).

I've been especially impressed with Pook in that he was pretty much on the scrapheap on the summer, but rather than just moping or pissing it up, he's obviously put his head down, done the work in the stiffs and impressed sufficiently to merit a try in the 1st team, then grabbed that opportunity with both hands. That takes self-belief, bottle and hard work. Hope he keeps it up

I'll eat humble pie with regards to Pook, I thought he only stayed here because no one else offered him a contract and it was the easy option. I didnt think he'd ever play for us and would be playing for Salisbury, Supermarine or Oxford next season.

Whatever he's done in the last couple of months its been an improvement. He's easily had his best two games for Swindon ever in the last week. Im genuinly a bit gutted we didnt get to bring Easton on in the last minute Saturday because chances are it would have been Pook going off and after the last 2 games he deserved to go off to a standing ovation.

You lot are a fickle bunch, you don't start supporting someone because they're randomly doing well. You blindly wade against the tide of evidence and claim they're still shit, shouting as much as abuse as you can as you go.
