Sadly passed away, one of the greatest singers ever, and immortalised by billy bragg.

listen to this fucking beautiful soulful voice.

Any band that can last 40 years is a sign of greatness....a great singer indeed.

Could've been a successful solo act as his voice was immense. The Four Tops and The Temptation are my favourite Motown groups, but I'd listen to any of them over most of todays music.

I saw them at a soul weekender (at Caister I think) at some point in the mid 90's, which was probably in the last year or so with the original line up before Lawrence Payton died.

They were still fucking A. Ben E King was on the same bill and his voice had gone completely.

Levi was brilliant (and of course was ace as the voice of Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors)

First LP I ever brought was "Four Tops Reach Out" R.I.P. Levi, one of the greatest voices in soul or any other type of music you care to mention.
