Title: Re: Remember, remember Post by: ibelieveinmrreeves on Friday, October 17, 2008, 13:17:38 I used to quite like fireworks displays here in Melksham - they weren't grand affairs but I suppose that is the advantage of being a child, low expectations. Nowadays I'm expected to go to Bath Uni's display, which I just can't be arsed with. Too many people.

I don't have a problem with it. She can go and do the hard stuff and earn the money and I'll carry on paddling around in easy jobs that let me waste time on forums.
Anyway News 24? Who watches that apart from insomniacs? And loners. Or both. Title: Re: Remember, remember Post by: michael on Friday, October 17, 2008, 14:01:04 If there's nothing on tv I'll watch Sky Sports News, mostly for Millie Clode, but you've also got Georgie Thompson too.
I note that Claire Tomlinson is now on SSN, but I don't rate her. Bryan Robson famously did though. Title: Re: Remember, remember Post by: michael on Friday, October 17, 2008, 14:02:40 Also, I love fireworks night. A good display can be almost orchestral (and if that isn't a word then it bloody well ought to be).

In the Bath Road Museum, there's some lovely pics of early 60's kids with their guys. This was a way to get some money up to buy some fireworks...health and safety, just didn't exist. We'd build massive fires and lob on various carefully made effigies, let off all the fireworks, without a parent in sight. I still love the tradition... |
