Title: Saaarfend
Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, September 22, 2008, 12:46:59
Anyone going?

It's £20.80 with a 18-25 railcard. (Depart 09:11, return 17:28)

Be rude not to really...

Get the half price 4 for 2 tickets.

Split them at Didcot.

Whats the station at Southend called? I had about 3 options pop up when I was looking at it, went for 'Main Station' or something.

Its ok, think I have it. Replacement bus service from Bath to Swindon though >:(

Sorry for being thick Spence, but can you explain that a bit?

Prittlewell is the closest to the ground.

If you book 4 tickets together you get them for the price of 2.

If you get tickets from Swindon to Didcot and then Didcot to Southend, it works out cheaper than getting tickets all the way through to Southend from Swindon. There is no logic in this, but it is true!

Train for me as well.  Tube from Paddington to London Fenchurch by the looks of it, then another train to Southend.

I've looked at splitting the tickets at Didcot like Spencer suggested but it still seems cheapest to buy tickets directly from Swindon to Prittlewell (the closest station to the ground).

As for times, I'd suggest:

Swindon to Prittlewell:
08:41 arriving at 11:48 or 09:11 arriving at 12:08

Prittlewell to Swindon
18:08 arriving at 21:02

Works out at £31.50 (but cheaper for me with my railcard :D)

Bleh. Bus replacement service from Bath to Swindon. Think I'll drive over to Swindon instead, I don't trust the bus.

Get OF to drive you there on his computer (or not, as the case may be).
