You can't say no ref it wasn't in?  Why not, that's what the Reading lot should have said, I'd be going mad about it if we were just given a goal, it's not right, football is only a game and if you award a team a goal for nothing, well the match is ruined.  Parity should have been restored immediately.

Reminds me of a game I saw a few years ago between Yeovil and Bournemouth.

Yeovil got a throw after Bournemouth kicked the ball out of play due to an injury. The Yeovil player (Lee Johnson, son of Gary) kicked it towards Bournemouths goal and it went in. Ref, quite rightly, awarded a goal.

From the resulting kick off, Yeovil just let Bournemouth go and score to even it out.

The problem with that analogy is that I would say no.  Who the fuck would give anyone a present in a car park, and who in their right mind would accept it?  There's a time and a place for presents and "someone" giving you a gift in the middle of a car park is not one of those occasions.

I'm allergic to cats and it would be irresponsible for me to take a puppy I couldn't look after properly. I don't really get the whole pet thing to be honest, so I'd probably tell whoever it was giving them to me that they'd be better off going with the sack + brick + river approach.

I think it would be depend on what sort or mood I was in. I reckon there's probably a 60% chance that such a situation will end in a rape. You've just got to weigh up the probabilities at the time.

The Football Association have charged Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd with abusive and/or insulting words towards referee Stuart Attwell during Saturday's Coca-Cola Championship match against Reading.


Boothroyd was sent from the technical area during the match, notorious for the award of a 13th-minute goal to the Royals when linesman Nigel Bannister farcically flagged for a goal instead of a corner.


Despite not a single Reading player appealing for the 'goal' 25-year-old referee Attwell awarded the goal.


Boothroyd admitted after the game, which finished 2-2: "I've never seen anything like it. It's like a UFO landing, a mistake like that.


"I've been to see the referee and in fairness he's only going on what the linesman says. He's working in a team and if someone comes in his ear telling him it's a goal then I suppose he's got to give it.


"I thought it was a goal-kick. What do you say to that? It was a strange sort of feeling because I was trying to calm my team down and get them going but all I could think was 'what was that for?'."


Boothroyd has until October 10 to respond to the charge.
