Title: Re: my day Post by: BANGKOK RED on Friday, September 19, 2008, 09:36:42 I've had a dead boring day, I'm hoping to convince a work colleague to go for a drink on Soi Cowboy with me after work though.
RE: Food GFM. I had a sausage baguette for lunch, smothered in English mustard and with chips. That'll be my recommendation for the day. Title: Re: my day Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, September 19, 2008, 09:43:33 I'm on a post-birthday day off - had to work yesterday and now I get to properly celebrate.
How best to celebrate ones 25th? Going bowling in a bit, how sad... But £1 per game + a drink or two is too good to turn down! Got my present from my old man - an STFC pennant signed by Glenn Hoddle + John Gorman and a 1991 Calendar signed by the players on it. Bless, only 17 years too late. Title: Re: my day Post by: janaage on Friday, September 19, 2008, 09:57:50 He means reign. Oh, right, wasn't a piss take at all I just couldn't work it out. Don't remember the offy Arriba, must have been before my time. Title: Re: my day Post by: STFC4LIFE on Friday, September 19, 2008, 10:00:40 That chippy near the ground is nice.
Chips and Gravy from there is a beautiful thing. Title: Re: my day Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, September 19, 2008, 10:04:08 Chips and Gravy from there is a beautiful thing. In my experience, chips and gravy from anywhere is a beautiful thing. In Durham they have a chippy called Bimbis, overpriced? Of course... but just so nice. ;D Title: Re: my day Post by: Fred Elliot on Friday, September 19, 2008, 10:05:27 I am the only one in today
so I am going to fuck off to the pub for the rest of the afternoon Title: Re: my day Post by: STFC4LIFE on Friday, September 19, 2008, 10:10:30 In my experience, chips and gravy from anywhere is a beautiful thing. Title: Re: my day Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, September 19, 2008, 10:11:45 But getting chips from the chippy, and making your own gravy just isn't the same. Is it? I may happen to be a badass at it too. But yes, you're right. Agreed York Road Chippy is first class, it might just be a bit cold by the time GFM gets it home - he could always pop into Bushey's office and share a sausage with him - oh sorry, forgot, they already do!!!Title: Re: my day Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, September 19, 2008, 11:08:18 I am the only one in today so I am going to fuck off to the pub for the rest of the afternoon I like that plan. No, I won't do it :D Title: Re: my day Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, September 19, 2008, 16:42:07 Chips with gravy is a northern abortion. Hang your heads in shame......... Quite right....ruins the chips. Talk of gravy on chips, always reminds me of being in Seahouses, Rich P knows where it is. I was eating in a small chip shop with a sit down bit , Mr Average Geordie was at the next table....wife and maybe two or three daughters. Their fish and chips arrived, with a standard gravy bowl as accompaniment. Mr Geordie kicks off to the waitress, that this is insufficient gravy for a family of five, especially with growing girls....waitress comes back with one of those big metal jugs, they serve water from in school dinner canteens full of gravy....Mr Geordie is content. Title: Re: my day Post by: Dazzza on Friday, September 19, 2008, 16:49:57 Chips and gravy requires grated cheese that's the law.
Great post session food although fully sober it's a hard one to tackle. I always liked Hull's addition to chips they insisit on spicy orange salt, while the convicts powder theirs with chicken salt, which is just as good.
