Title: Champions League
Post by: michael on Tuesday, September 16, 2008, 19:00:10
Qualifying has finished and the 'tournament' proper starts now.

How long can the English dominance last?

Despite all the extra tv and sponsorship money, Pound Sterling aint worth a squirt of piss internationally at the moment, meaning that buying a European player is just as expensive as buying an English one these days. The economy could be a key factor in dragging English teams back to the competition.

Anyway, let's hope it's a good competition!

Once again Liverpool are lucky!!

What a dull 2nd half... could've/should've been plenty more goals in this.

Perfick scenario of events for the English clubs [edit] thus far as Roma are losing at home to Cluj-Napoca.

Best result of the night has to be Roma's defeat to transalvanian team CFR 1907 Cluj.

Come on Rich, we all know that any decent manager would have got them into Europe again by now! They are a massive club remember!

that's a massive generalisation, I know some and they are very down to earth, the only ones you hear about normally are their equivalent of adver comments posters.

I enjoyed that arsenal game, very entertaining, if a little one-sided. Theo looked great, looking forward to him ripping Khazakstan apart.

I'd like the top clubs in Europe (including England) to fuck off to a Super League that is a closed shop, no promotion or relegation.  That way it could be separate from anything we are part of and I could easily ignore it and the teams in it (especially if it's pay per view, or a separate subscription).

So, er yes STA, is the answer you were looking for.
