Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: glos_robin on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 15:51:27 I used to enjoy Ashton gate.........no backs on seats meant it was free reign to stand up and usually a big following as well.
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: STFC_Gazzza on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 15:54:33 Aldershot would have been pretty special if it was a league match. Great away area for making noise.
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: janaage on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 15:56:28 Loftus Road is my favourite away ground. Love it. The Springbok helps too.
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Arriba on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 15:59:23 i used to like wolves before the massive terrace got redeveloped.west ham too.in recent years reading has been my fav
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: tans on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 16:03:05 Loftus Road is quality.
Brentford is not too bad either because of the pubs. Accrington is a fucking shit hole mind Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: michael on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 16:05:43 Kenilworth Road is, by definition, an absolute dump. But I love going there. Loads of character in the ground. Decent chippy round the corner where all the fans get their grub from, and some dodgey alleyways that no doubt seen a few running battles. Love it.
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: reeves4england on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 16:14:40 Brentford is always good. I quite like going to Wycombe too, although we seem to have spent a lot of time there in recent years. I enjoyed Elland Road last year, hopefully we'll take a decent number up there again this season.
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 16:17:13 Brentford, wolves, qpr and i have always enjoyed stokes ground
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 16:43:54 in recent years reading has been my fav Can't have been watching Town then as we haven't been there for 7 years. Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Arriba on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 16:50:56 is it that long since we last played there?
i've seen us there twice and an england u21 game Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 17:07:24 luton - nowhere else like it
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: adje on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 19:58:08 I use to like Layer Road-but I dont know why
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:08:59 I use to like Layer Road-but I dont know why The traditional small ground wedged between houses, is rapidly becoming a thing of the past...and they're all going for the flat pack monotony. I'd guess teh new ColU ground will be like this. The CG for all it's defects is fast becoming a bit of a historic treasure. Can't be too many grpounds left that have been played at since the 19th Century. Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:21:06 Loftus Road is a good shout. Always take a lot there. Always look forward to it.
Reading is good because it always feels like we get to take the piss. I like Bournemouth. Nottingham Forest. Hereford and Shrewsbury were good. Chesterfield. Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: leefer on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:24:35 Was at there new ground on friday Reg,built bang next door to the A12...12,000 seater, very tidy but as you say very flat packish,to be fair they did need a new ground, what i cant fathom is how they walked all over us in a 3 1 win yet they get turned over 2 0 at Crewe.
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:25:59 10,000 CAPACITY ISNT IT?
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: leefer on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:27:25 Think they can add another 2000 if they want.
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: alanmayes on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:28:13 I've always enjoyed the trips to Dean Court (Bournemouth) known it from the 70's before it was
redeveloped and the pitch turned around. Craven Cottage (Fulham) we haven't played them for ages, right by the Thames, walk through the park, houses on the Stevenage Rd side. The Hawthorns (WBA) lovely ground, good atmosphere, sense of anticipation when you see it from the M5,before the junction. Portman Rd (Ipswich) good atmosphere, good crowd, usually see good footbal there and a good day out. Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:28:52 Ah right. It says a lot about their potential if they build a new stadium with only 12,000 max capacity
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: axs on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:30:04 they only get about 5K as it is, they've built in capacity for doubling their crowd.
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:30:32 parkhead, fucking awesome,
but best of all is the azteca, 125,000 fucking mental. Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:32:17 Enjoyed boltons old ground for a weird reason
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: leefer on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:35:03 Craven Cottage is good....remember gong there and drawing 3 3 in the cup then hammering them in the replay, with Best and Marsh playing and also think Bobby Moore was in the team.
Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: alanmayes on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:35:27 San Siro Milan, you just have to experience a Milan derby once in your life.I've been to the
Olympic stadium Rome and Bayern's old Olympic stadium as well. Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 20:35:53 Was at there new ground on friday Reg,built bang next door to the A12...12,000 seater, very tidy but as you say very flat packish,to be fair they did need a new ground, what i cant fathom is how they walked all over us in a 3 1 win yet they get turned over 2 0 at Crewe. I think like Numb we are teh only side they've managed to beat this season. The patern being we just gift goals, doesn't really matter what level of football you play at, you must have a certain level of basic competence... Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Scot Munroe on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 21:00:45 San Siro Milan, you just have to experience a Milan derby once in your life.I've been to the Olympic stadium Rome and Bayern's old Olympic stadium as well. what was the olympic stadium in Rome like. Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: larwood on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 21:22:55 what was the olympic stadium in Rome like. Hoping to get there soon. Its ok.Sure its better when its full though, the time i went it was half empty and so didn't really feel like a 'proper' football ground.I enjoyed the Sadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa more.Ask Mex about getting AC Milan tickets. He knows all there is to know :) Everton is a good one,Leeds as well,Forest also. All football grounds and thats it,always the best. Title: Re: Grounds you Post by: Scot Munroe on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 21:32:40 Cheers Larwood. I might be going to Goodison park in October to see them play against Newcastle.
