I'm hopeful we can get more than the 13270 we had last season.

This will be our 6th home game in a row where we've had over 7000 in attendance, the first time this decade.

The away end has been sold out for a few days now I think.

Talking of the 7,000 attendances......as thats the figure that is mentioned as pretty much our break even figure I did a bit of research, yes I was very bored!

If we keep up this average attendance it will be the first time since the Premier League season that we have never had less than 7,000 at a game (yes I know its early in the season but I am feeling unusually optimistic!)

Over the last 20 season (league games alone) these are the figues I discovered, with the equivalent divison as it is now has been stated.

That's what I was going on about before, it pisses me off away fans in the home end, they turn up seat amongst us silently willing on the opposition.  I would not intervene should one of them find themselves getting a battering.

Think the matchday ticket office are supposed to refuse to sell them home stand tickets.. Remember hearing about a welsh STFC fan nearly getting turned away because he 'sounded like a Swansea fan'...

I like the mixing... especially when the away team score and you get muted celebration from the infiltrating away fans, followed by some abuse from the home support and then they get ejected.

There was almost a fight behind me this year, when some QPR cockney twats sat in the DR stand. The difference was they were cheering QPR and slagging off Swindon most of the first half. When some bloke turned round and cheered whilst looking at them after we went into the lead, they started kicking off saying they were just trying to watch the game - and wanted to "take it outside if you have a problem"

To be fair to the club, they almost refused to sell me a ticket ove rthe phone based on the fact I hadn't bought one already this season. Thankfully I have an SN postcode!

A few Leeds fans will inevitably get in the home end but it seems like the club are doing all they can to stop it. Wouldn't have been a bad idea to make it all-ticket, unless they have and I've missed it?!

Honestly, if they keep themselves to themselves and dont gloat or go over the top I dont care. At the end of the day regardless of who we support we should all be humans. We can get along.

Rugby for the most part dont seperate the home and away supporters they all sit together and for the most part get on fine.

How on earth somebody can possibly make a comment like that I do not know. It is unlikely that 5000 will come from Leeds, of the 3000 odd away supporters I bet a sizable number don't come from Leeds but live reasonably local.

The thing that annoys me is you can imagine the carnage if 30 Swindon fans sat in the Leeds nd at Elland Road,was at the ground today and they toldme 13,000 have been sold.

Sounds like bad planning to me, if leeds are selling out this easily then surely we should have given them the townend.

I remember loads of Sunderland fans all around me a few years ago who where threatening those around them, so that puts me off away fans sitting in the home end especially when the club fans are known for creating trouble.

Yes, I agree. Some scrotes offered me £30 each for my 3 tickets in the Wheathshief in Ciren. That was a days student tesco worker wages. Naturally I told them to do one. IIRC that was  a game they could have clinched promotion, and they didn't. I had a radio and it was good fun winding them up.

Having said that I have to put my hand up and say I have sat with away fans twice before. Once v Forest as my Forest supporting colleague wouldn't go unless I sat with he home fans. Once at home v Chelsea for the Kevin Morris benefit game. My football turettes got the better of me and I was shouting "Wise your a c*nt" befre I realised sitting down and shutting up was the best policy. I got away with it.

I sat with the home supporters at Leeds away in the Carling Cup that year when we lost to Robinson's header. I was sat next to a nutter, so that was a fucking horrible game because all you wanted to do was celebrate, but were terrified of having your face put through the floor.

I also sat with the home supporters at Reading when we beat them 3-1, with Kuffour and Invincibile scoring. That was fun because when i accidently cheered, i got nasty looks and nothing else. So i carried on, as i thought it was ok. It was ok and no one said a word.

That leeds game was the one game i went when i should not of, i was a master of disguise or so i thought until a Swindon copper said hello but said he would keep it quiet

I sat in the home end at Blackpool when Invincibile missed that last minute penalty. My Dad didn't trust me on my own in the away end!

I've sat in the home section when we played Man City and Aston Villa back in the late 80's.  I have no issues with it really provided there was space and they haven't taken seats the home fans would have, and provided a modicrum of self control is used.  I've also sat in the Stretford End with a Swindon shirt on, which got some very strange looks on a European night.

So did I, it was surreal like watching football in the 1960's all flat caps and whippets

When I bought our tickets earlier this week, they were happy to take my credit card details but wouldn't take my name & address for precisely the same reason.  (I live 60 miles from Swindon, in Hampshire.)  One of the friends I am going with tomorrow lives in Wootton Bassett, and the ticket office was happy to take his details.  But what confuses me is that (unless I am missing something here) I could have opened up the Swindon telephone directory and given them a random name & address.  I think they would have been happy with that too.

Ugh I've had all sorts of trouble with this today.

I've been on their database for years and years, but all of a sudden I'm not this season because of a "computer upgrade". Now, this doesn't sound much of an upgrade if they've lost all their customers' details, does it?

So I ring in, old guy Brian refuses point blank to sell me tickets as my postcode is in Bristol: "All the Leeds fans are saying they've been going for 20 years," he tells me when I protest over how long I've been going to games.

Anyway, I ring reception to complain and - fair play - they rang me straight back and got me on the database.

Then, four hours later the ticket office finally call back, I get tickets ... Mind you, I'm stuck in some pretty shit ones in the front of the Arkells ... but that's my fault for having not rung sooner!

I'm grateful to the admin bit of the club for sorting it - but you've got to ask what the hell is going on in the ticket office if they manage to lose so many customers' details ... There's no warning on the official website that we need to be pre-registered on the "upgraded" database, or that there's any police restriction on non-Swindon postcodes. If I had known I would have sorted tickets much sooner.

Nobody is on the database any more. I'd have thought it would have been easy enough to transfer it all across but apparantly not. I spent about 5-10 minutes on the phone the other day because they wanted to add my name, address, phone number, email address and date of birth to my 'account' on the new system. I suppose we'll all be glad in a couple of years time when it makes life easier for us though

i think they forgot about compatibility when upgrading the system, presumably the old database couldn't merge with the other. which surprises me cos i swear it was all DOS based a couple of years back...
