Title: Paraolympics
Post by: yeo on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 10:53:12
Is a swiz.

Now im all for people with real disabilities having a go.Wheel Chair Basketball, etc but yesterday there was a woman riding a bike and her disabilty apperared to be that she never had a hand.Bearing in mind that the bikes dont have brakes anyway if she was any good surely she should be competing in the real thing?

Swimming, does being partilially sighted make any difference to how fast you can swim in straight line? sure blind people will take longer because they wont see the side coming but partially sighted?

I think there are to many catagories, could they not had 1 armed people against 1 armed people and dwarfs against dwarfs? Its stupidly confusung and right on and accomadates people that shouldnt be in it.

Like I said before I'd rather watch an olympic druggie games than the paralympics.  How fast can man run with performance enhancing drugs pumping through his body?  Be great.

If I go to the Paralympics when they're on in London, will I get a special parking place?

My other alternative is to try and qualify for the over 35, overweight, shortsighted ping pong category

Didn't Bertie Brayley play for England special needs team once because he had an IQ under 60? I don't see how that affects footballing ability, judging by some of the professionals that grace our leagues...

I play badminton pretty well and have already been spotted for when i get a transplant to compete for GB at the transplant olympics. next one is being held in the gold coast australia in august 2009. would be fucking amazing to be able to get a transplant and be well enough to go there and compete.

Mex - If I donated a kidney, could I get a portion of the medal ? It's probably as near as I'm going to get. (I was a badminton player of sorts in black and white days - I wonder if there is such a thing as a 'badminton kidney' ?)

It's all a benfits scam. I reckon half the people in it are fine they just want to claim benfits. I think to quilfy for the para games you should be left at the top of a flight of stairs, if you can't make it down the same without hurting yourself, pissing yourself or drwaling then you are clearly not disabled. If however you do hurtyourslef etc then your in!!!!!
