Title: Season Tickets Post by: Nemo on Friday, September 5, 2008, 19:45:14 Can you change seats at all? Don't mind if there's a small fee but I'd rather not buy a whole new ticket. Bored of the Don Rodgers already, a few of the Town End chavite's annoy me but at least there's an atmosphere.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, September 5, 2008, 19:47:08 I'm sure they'll let you.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: yeo on Friday, September 5, 2008, 19:50:19 sure why not
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Batch on Friday, September 5, 2008, 19:55:54 DR as a bit dead isn't it. They only seem to clap along to Red Army.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Friday, September 5, 2008, 19:56:39 Glad i stayed in the TE.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: yeo on Friday, September 5, 2008, 19:58:54 next time I go im going TE.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Nemo on Friday, September 5, 2008, 19:59:19 Surely you're going to the Leeds game Yeovil?
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Batch on Friday, September 5, 2008, 20:01:20 Watkins reckons we are up to 10k for the Leeds game already.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Nemo on Friday, September 5, 2008, 20:02:45 And that Leeds have sold 3.3k. That should be an atmosphere and a half. Hopefully.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Friday, September 5, 2008, 20:04:43 Yeah should be 10k plus i'd have thought.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: suttonred on Friday, September 5, 2008, 20:08:52 If we win tonight i would imagine it will be a near full house.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: yeo on Friday, September 5, 2008, 20:09:46 Surely you're going to the Leeds game Yeovil? nope, cant be arsed to go to games on work nights this season. Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Bushey Boy on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 11:27:47 Im on a VIP day for
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Bushey Boy on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 11:28:24 That meant to say im ona VIP day for that, wonder if Bates will show his face
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Luci on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 11:36:34 And that Leeds have sold 3.3k. That should be an atmosphere and a half. Hopefully. yeah atmosphere alright, shame all the noise will be coming from the Leeds fans. Our fans are shit at making noise at home. Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: LucienSanchez on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 11:45:34 I'm still struggling to see why playing Leeds is seen as such a big draw. This is the 2nd season they've been in our league, so surely a game against Colchester or Crewe should be more of a challenge and therefore a tastier affair?
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 12:26:03 I thought 2nd half against Col U was alright.
The DRS needs to do some chants and that will not happen. Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Luci on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 16:57:43 I'm still struggling to see why playing Leeds is seen as such a big draw. This is the 2nd season they've been in our league, so surely a game against Colchester or Crewe should be more of a challenge and therefore a tastier affair? Crewe were in our league last year! Possibly the least atmospheric ground ive ever been to. Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: LucienSanchez on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 17:05:34 Oh were they? Well, any one else that got relegated then. I really don't feel any more up for the Leeds game than when we play the likes of Walsall and Oldham...
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Luci on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 17:09:03 Well I think it was the game where some old dude got stuck in the turnstile and his trousers fell down so yes!
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: DV on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 17:09:59 'big club' init.
That makes it better and worth more points some how. Im not really sure how.... Only game I'm looking forward to more than the others is Leicester because its been years since we've played them..... Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: donkey on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 19:58:39 'big club' init. That makes it better and worth more points some how. Im not really sure how.... What happened last time we played them (bring back the memories for you all :)) Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 10:53:13 Crewe were in our league last year! Possibly the least atmospheric ground ive ever been to. The stand behind the goal is so small then when I walked past it outside I got soaked by the sprinklers that were watering the pitch Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: janaage on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:00:33 I must admit Leicester is a match I am looking forward to, I used to love our rivalry, seemed to be a bit of a special "intenseness" for want of a better (or real) word.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: jayohaitchenn on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:03:48 Like it or not, Leeds is a big game. It'll be our highest attendance of the season again, and I think that speaks for itself.
I personally can't wait! Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:08:16 All that indicates is that people turn up to it en masse, and it's that bit i don't get...
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: janaage on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:13:02 See how many people sitting around you don't really seem that interested in Swindon, funny that, that's because there will be loads of Wiltshire Leeds armchair fans turning up to watch them, they aren't Swindon fans just coming to watch us. Doesn't make it a massive match for us.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:15:21 See how many people sitting around you don't really seem that interested in Swindon, funny that, that's because there will be loads of Wiltshire Leeds armchair fans turning up to watch them, they aren't Swindon fans just coming to watch us. Doesn't make it a massive match for us. So your saying that that anyone who's looking forward to the Leeds game as a big match isn't a real fan? Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: janaage on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:19:45 Yes Ben that's exactly what I'm saying.
No how the heck did you get that from that statement. What I mean is the big crowd is not down to loads of part time Town fans turning up, it's down to Leeds bringing 3,000 in the away end and loads of "Leeds followers" who maybe live in this area turning up to watch Leeds. Yeah I'm sure there will be a fair few Town fans who don't go to every match turning up, which is fine, but the not in the huge numbers people think. Last season in the Arkells there were shed loads of middle aged Leeds fans in the winners at half time, sat near me in the enclosure etc. Just saying that yes the attendance will be larger than normal, but that doesn't really make it a "huge" match for me. It's just another league match. Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: jayohaitchenn on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:23:03 Well i sit with the season ticket holders in the loud part of the town end... but I will look out for those who don't seem interested.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:23:46 I'm looking forward to it. We were robbed at Elland Road last year, and I didn't get to go to the game at the CG. Also, I haven't seen the CG full (or close to) for quite a while now.
I just hope those around me in the TE will pull their finger out, get behind the team and make some noise to compete with the dirty lot in the away end. Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Tails on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:28:11 I'm looking forward to Ankergren's reunion with the town end!
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:31:00 Yes Ben that's exactly what I'm saying. No how the heck did you get that from that statement. It's just another league match. Just thinking you're dismissing all the people who do go regularly who think that the Leeds game is a big game, just because you don't want to think it is. A lot of these "armchair" other fans will be ones who pick 5-10 games a season, not complete armchair fans. Just that the fans that do go to a limited number of games will probably pick the same bigger matches, increasing the crowd. Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:31:48 I'm looking forward to Ankergren's reunion with the town end! Yeah me too. Going to give him some stick. Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: janaage on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 11:43:57 Just thinking you're dismissing all the people who do go regularly who think that the Leeds game is a big game, just because you don't want to think it is. That wasn't the intention Ben, I don't have anything against Town fans who can only make a handful of games per season. Not question of their loyalty, or opinion on STF matters. It;s only my opinion that Leeds is just another match, if it means more to some other people then fair enough! Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: DV on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 13:26:11 Like it or not, Leeds is a big game. It'll be our highest attendance of the season again, and I think that speaks for itself. I personally can't wait! The Attendance just indicates that Leeds are a well supported club and will bring about 3,000 more fans than most of teams in this league will. Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Batch on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 15:31:53 For me a big game is doing over local rivals, smacking it to higher division opponents, or when something matters (ensuring promotion, cup advancement, etc). Leeds is just another 3 points in the grand scheme of things.
It's nice to get a big crowd and hopefully a bit of atmosphere though. Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: janaage on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 15:45:34 Agree with all of that Batch!
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: swindonbob on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 16:01:20 I'm looking forward to Ankergren's reunion with the town end! I don't think he is Leeds first choice keeper anymore? Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: pumbaa on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 19:51:58 I'll be the first to admit that I pencilled in the Leeds game last year as a big game, and attended accordingly. I managed 4 games last season, despite being in the USA until February, and frankly I enjoyed the other 3 games more than the Leeds game. Partly because of the results (we won the others), and partly because I managed to get a beer in the Merlin without having to queue for 30 minutes etc. So this year I can't be arsed - well actually I'm going to my Best Man's wedding instead. I'll be there for their Yorkshire rivals 'uddersfield though.....
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: michael on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 21:20:02 Definitely a big game. Can't wait.
Title: Re: Season Tickets Post by: Luci on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 21:21:04 Swindon 4 - Leeds 1 :D
