Title: Hereford...final warning Post by: leefer on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:11:32 I know its been mentioned in a few threads so dont bollock me but driving back from Monmouth today i was stuck in Gloucester for an hour and half on the A40 roadworks, and it wasnt a Friday or rush hour which it will be for you fans traveling to Hereford, you will be in danger of missing the first half at least.
Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: Panda Paws on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:20:32 What would the best way to go to avoid this then? M4, M48, A466, A49?
Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:26:38 So what is the best non motorway alternative? Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Ledbury?
Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: leefer on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:27:05 Get M5north in gloucester, off junction 8 onto M50,off junction2 onto A417 Ledbury and that leads you onto theA438 straight to Hereford....an hour and a half ...2 hours max.
Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:28:36 Get M5north in gloucester, off junction 8 onto M50,off junction2 onto A417 Ledbury and that leads you onto theA438 straight to Hereford....an hour and a half ...2 hours max. Yeah but you just said Glos was shit.... Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: leefer on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:31:17 You dont touch Gloucester Reg..its on the outskirts....abit like the M4Swindon.
Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: larwood on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:32:52 What would the best way to go to avoid this then? M4, M48, A466, A49? No points at any game you've been to this season though! And last night doesn't count as there were no points involved :DThink you should stay at home Panda, its the best for the team ;) Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:36:38 You dont touch Gloucester Reg..its on the outskirts....abit like the M4Swindon. I know that, but isn't that just the way most people would take anyway, unless they wanted the scenic view? You make it sound like there's a knock on effect anywhere near Gloster. Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: herthab on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:41:54 No points at any game you've been to this season though! And last night doesn't count as there were no points involved :D Think you should stay at home Panda, its the best for the team ;) Yeah Panda. You're a fucking jinx ;) Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: sonic youth on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:58:50 we've won every away game i've been to in 2008
Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: axs on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 19:59:51 I'm attempting to witness 4 away wins in a week, 3 swindon, 1 england - 2 out of 2 so far.
Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: swindonbob on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 20:34:05 3 seasons ago i made a good friend at work who was also a Swindon fan. Since then, we have been to 12 away league games together...
1) 15 OCT 2005 Brentford (Away) Draw 0-0 2) 14 JAN 2005 Gillingham (Away) Lost 0-3 3) 25 FEB 2006 Nottingham Forest (Away) Lost 1-7 4) 11 MAR 2006 Yeovil Town (Away) Draw 0-0 5) 26 SEP 2006 Wycombe Wanderers (Away) Draw 1-1 6) 28 APR 2007 Bristol Rovers (Away) Lost 0-1 7) 25 AUG 2007 Cheltenham Town (Away) Draw 1-1 8) 2 OCT 2007 Swansea City (Away) Lost 1-2 9) 17 NOV 2007 Leeds United (Away) Lost 1-2 10) 29 DEC 2007 AFC Bournemouth (Away) Draw 2-2 11) 11 MAR 2008 Leyton Orient (Away) Lost 1-2 12) 16 AUG 2008 Cheltenham Town (Away) Lost 0-2 I have been to two other league games without him: 1) 29 SEP 2007 Millwall (Away) Won 2-1 2) 30 AUG 2008 Franchise (Away) Won 2-1 Its definately a curse. 12 games over three seasons is mental.....unfortunately we will be at Hereford on Friday. Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 20:43:34 I'm attempting to witness 4 away wins in a week, 3 swindon, 1 england - 2 out of 2 so far. That's impressive going...in 85/86 due to bad weather and the fixture list, we played 6 away games in a row from Jan 18th to March 8th..won the lot. Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: The Professor on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 21:02:10 Reg, you're amazing! How the hell do you remember all this? I can't even remember which limb goes in which trouser leg? Do you have a massive library of football books, do you have thousands of little note books with things written down, a massive computerised record of Swindon games played - I'm really genuinely intrigued!

I've got a few books, for dates and that, but most of the general stuff is in my head. Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: OOH! Think we shipped one in the 6th game at Spotland. Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: glos_robin on Thursday, September 4, 2008, 11:39:52 Living in Tewkesbury I'm just going to M50 it as by far the easiest option..............unless of course it floods (which is a distinct possibility at the moment) in which case junction 1 will flood and close the motorway. The Highnam to Over roadworks are a nightmare and I'd say avoid them at all costs.

I was in the side stand last time.......... Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: Panda Paws on Thursday, September 4, 2008, 16:13:24 The side stand has a roof but there isn't one behind the goal IIRC. Yeah there is, just it only covers the main body of the stand, and the beach bit at the front is uncovered, altho only selling 404 tickets and them all of a sudden making it all ticket, i cant see us needing the end stand! I get the feeling we're gunna have quite alot turn up without tickets Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: Spencer_White on Thursday, September 4, 2008, 17:42:13 As soon as our team coach leaves with the tickets on board there will be a notice on the official site saying its not all ticket anymore. Happens all the time. For strict all ticket matches they make much more fuss than this.
But I did ring up and buy one, so call me a fraud if you want! Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: STFC4LIFE on Thursday, September 4, 2008, 17:54:46 Yeah there is, just it only covers the main body of the stand, and the beach bit at the front is uncovered, altho only selling 404 tickets and them all of a sudden making it all ticket, i cant see us needing the end stand! Not sure if this Google Map link will work, but here goes..... http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=highnam&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl Title: Re: Hereford...final warning Post by: leefer on Thursday, September 4, 2008, 20:42:44 Thats right Pumbaa....just go M5 then onto M50,off junction 2....i went to Hereford and Leominster today, only took me 2 hours in the lorry,so you will do it in an hour and half.
