my throat is red raw. its painful to swallow, as though i'm swallowing a table tenis ball with small spikes on perhaps. but i've taken some strong painkillers and it seems to be a bit better so i might have a smoke :? co-codamol 500mg nurofen 200mg ibprofen 200mg the last 2 are the same but i plumped for the stronger co-codamol. it says on the packet not to take with any other paracetamol-containing medication, should i just leave the ibprofen mr pharmacist? Title: tonsilitis Post by: sonicyouth on Sunday, May 8, 2005, 14:44:01 ibuprofen doesn't contain paracetemol so you can take both together. co-codamol is paracetemol 500mg and codeine 8mg, it's marginally stronger than normal paracetemol but it never makes much difference to me.
take 2x co-codamol then after two hours take 2x nurofen/ibuprofen, then after another two hours take 2x co-codamol then 2x nurofen, etc etc etc. the paracetemol is a stronger painkiller but ibuprofen will help with the inflamed tonsils and whatnot. After 24 hours of anitibiotics it was gone and I still managed to make poxford away!
