Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: Batch on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 15:36:48 3 of that defence i would start saturday Smith, Morrison and Kanyuka? Not sure about Morrison, he's young and learning the game. Haven't seen enough of Amankwaah to form a proper opinion, looked no better than Smith, only saw him play a half though. Smith, Morrison and Kanyuka? Not sure about Morrison, he's young and learning the game. Haven't seen enough of Amankwaah to form a proper opinion, looked no better than Smith, only saw him play a half though. Kanyuka you have got to be joking, I've only seen him the once and that was once too many!! Not good enough. Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: Rich Pullen on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 18:06:19 BARRY Corr continued his comeback from injury with a goal in this afternoon's friendly reserve 2-2 draw at Charlton.
The Irishman was joined by Patrick Kanyuka on the scoresheet as Town impressed against a strong Charlton second-string outfit, including the likes of Darren Ambrose. Corr led the line powerfully for 75 minutes, while winger Mark Marshall terrorised the hosts' defence all afternoon. Left back Callum Kennedy and central midfielder Chris Allen also impressed with a host of scouts watching ahead of the close of the transfer window. Town boss Maurice Malpas will decide tomorrow whether to let Barry Corr go on loan to Bournemouth. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/display.var.2434473.0.corr_on_target_again.php Although I can very much see the logic of sending him to Bournemouth, hmm, maybe he'll be better off with us - first 20 mins off the bench (and a goal or two) and then take it from there! Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: Spencer_White on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 18:11:50 Dont let him go!
We need him now. 4 away games in 5 means we could be in dire straights by the time he comes back (home game is Leeds who are in good form). If he gets one winner comming off the bench (like Tranmere last season) then that could be priceless. :fear: Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: Rich Pullen on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 18:13:20 Charlton's take on the day.

Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: Luci on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 18:19:08 The pacy Marsh almost won it for Swindon with two minutes to go, but his 25-yard drive flashed just over the bar.
Ohhhhhhhhhh Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 18:45:43 With Cardiff also coming up next week in a reserve "friendly" maybe keeping Corr here could be an option. There's also the option of giving him a run out in the JPT next week.
I'd be tempted to start Marshall on Saturday as well. There's also the option of giving him a run out in the JPT next week. I'd be tempted to start Marshall on Saturday as well. Thats why I couldn't understand why we were putting him out on loan. Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: Rich Pullen on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 18:49:20 I'm suprised with the apparent lack-of-lass with Kevin Bond not following this offer up regardless of his decision.
Perhaps he had someone at the Charlton game. Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 18:58:33 that says marshal scored? A header as well! He is only about 3 ft 2! Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: michael on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 20:19:29 So has anyone got any idea what a "bounce" match is? Is this another Scottish thing, and if so why didn't Sturrock ever say it?
Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: wheretherealredsare on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 20:33:27 that says marshal scored? "But Swindon were level a minute later when a free-kick from the right was headed home by Mark Marshall - one of the smallest players on the pitch." As opposed to the OS version having the scorer as Kanyuka - one of the biggest players on the pitch :hmmm: Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: Spencer_White on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 20:34:51 Was Big Ron doing the summarising?

Title: Re: Official Charlton Athletic v Swindon Town Matchday Thread Post by: Power to people on Thursday, August 28, 2008, 07:31:46 Sounds like the defence wasn't that great though reading the Charlton report
Do we read anything into the fact that Peacock & Easton was not involved even though they have had little match action recently, and that Kanuka played even though he played 90 mins Sat ??
