I'd rather hear about new local music then have a thread about seeing people's holiday snaps or night out on the town which has been put on this forum more times than you can shake a stick at! but that's just me, others will be different and that's fine

but to be postive about it was there a music board on here at some point? there are some people on here with a great taste in music, mexico red and axs just to name a couple right off the bat.

I'm not saying i above getting myself on a forum but there's plenty of MUSIC forums for that.

i know man, hence my point about maybe a music part to the forum, music is talked on here quite alot compared to say the porn section which has a place all of it's own :)

It's pointless to split up the forum more. You just end up with hundred of bits that nobody ever uses like on the loud and proud forum. Unless there was ever a secret sound and vision bit again.

Porn has it's own section because it makes it more clear what you can click on if your at work. Music doesn't really need one, it fits under "non-football" quite well.

I've actually seen Seven Years On a couple of times and thought they weren't bad - certainly had an energy about them. Wasn't sure if the singer fitted in with everything but I think by the second time I'd seen them they had developed some of the songs so it all came together a lot better.

Is it bad that the only place Ive ever been to in Westbury is reflections???  :-[

I don't mind the fact that MonkeyBob posts about Severn Years On gigs on here etc. The reason he probably does it is because it's such a wider audience and it's more members of the general public of Swindon here as opposed to people in the music community of Swindon such as promoters and bands that you see on the Swindon Music forums. Will have to give the tracks a listen. Are they up on your myspace Monkey?

I dont think anyone is going to this moonfest thingy.  Apparently cancelled because the police wouldnt let babyshambles play.  It had only sold 150 tickets from a 5000 capacity.

The line up was a bit lame to be honest.

  Oh well...I wasn't planning on going, just interested in a relatively local event.

Thought it was a bit of a weird line up as it goes.  Dance, Indie, 80s and Cover bands.  Not really any defining theme.  Hope the fella hasn't lost too much money.


 

Yes they are! You're dead right Iffy this is a really good and busy forum packed with Swindonians so I thought I might as well have a go at using it at a platform to push the woefully unappreciated local scene. Focusing entirely on my band, obviously. ;-)

An Oxford fan in Seven Years On? Surely not, how could this have happened? I'll start investigations. He'll be hunted him down and forced to change his ways by the end of the week.

I went to three nights of the Swindon Shuffle the other week and the Swindon Music scene is very good. Thought Seven years on were quality.Will have to get onto my dads computer and get a copy of the album as work have banned the likes of facebook, myspace, youtube but not town end luckily!
I also thought Beatbullyz and Buswell were class.

I like the Carter Affair.

I do like Seven Years On, they are an ace band! Thorne are good too, though i haven't caught em live yet. Theres a lot of good music in the 'don at the mo, it's nice!
