Title: so, i'm at work... Post by: Leggett on Monday, August 18, 2008, 18:14:48 ...parked up in the van park at work, reading my paper, waiting for 10 minutes to pass to do the next part of my collection. there's a van parked directly in front of mine, as i pull up i notice the door is open. so i'm reading the paper, them SMACK, my van gets hit hard from the front, i look up and see the transit van in front has his reversing lights on and is trying to mount the front of my corsa van, then the transit rolls forward, the reversing lights go out... then they come back on again, and the transit hits me AGAIN. i start shouting and hitting the horn, finally the transit's brake lights come on, the door flings open, and a guy at work, kieran, steps out.
he's known as a bit of a twat, no common sense, maybe a sandwich short of a picnic, or maybe just a bit dim. he says he couldnt see me, he's sorry and all that jazz. only a scuff to the bumpers, no big damage, but my neck is a bit sore. i ask him to come with me and fill in the accident report just to cover my back, he shuffles off saying he's got his collection to do. my boss tells me to go to the hospital as my necks hurting, turns out i've got whiplash. woop. i just cant understand how he hit me twice???? and didnt see me in the first place!!!! so after about 15mins of A+E and then nearly 2 hours of accident reports, i go home. pretty fucking sore at the minute, and still a bit puzzled as to the other drivers actions. he's a fucking fruitloop. Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, August 18, 2008, 18:23:41 You don't have much luck with vehicles leggett! Whether it be road rage or numpties - you are a magnet for trouble on the roads :D
I hope the neck is feeling a bit better now though. Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: Spud on Monday, August 18, 2008, 18:24:11 Is this the same Kieran that drives on the night shift? if yes then he's a Grade A Cunt.
Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: Leggett on Monday, August 18, 2008, 18:26:57 no no no no no, if it'd been him i would've run the fucker over.
oh, and whilst doing my collection about 30 mins before this, i was almost hit by some asian twat who was texting whilst driving down the middle of the road, i had to shove my car up on the pavement, the guy almost shit himself, slammed on his brakes and yanked his car over to his side of the road. almost fucking messy. sigh! :P Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: Spud on Monday, August 18, 2008, 18:29:04 no no no no no, if it'd been him i would've run the fucker over. Good shout. I do think you need to stop driving though James, as the only threads you create on here are about accidents and near misses that you're involved in. :D Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: janaage on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 08:22:43 Leggett was your woot after saying you've got whip lash a sarcastic woot, or are you happy so you can claim?
Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: Batch on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 08:47:20 Where there's blame there's a claim ;)
Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: janaage on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 09:37:11 It's just after my crash I've had a sore neck and I don't really want to claim, but to be honest I never had any problem with my neck before the "shunt" and now it aches quite regularly (especially when driving). My point I suppose is I really don't feel like "wooting" I'd much prefer not to have an aching neck rather than get some money for it, if you know what I mean. I'm sure Leggett was meaning woot as in a Jack Dee style "yeeeeah", dead pan, but it just got me thinking, in what context was the "woot" used I wonder.
Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: Leggett on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 10:44:21 oh trust me, it was as sarcastic as could be.
and dave, yes if i'd been out delivering letters it wouldnt have happened, you're quite correct, but thats not my job, thats a completely different function with completely different working hours. much like if your mum swallowed that fateful night, you wouldn't have been born... ;) Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: janaage on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 10:51:23 Fair enough Leggett, neck pain is horrible, especially when it feels like there's nothing you can do about it, the pain seems to be so far away from the surface you just can't massge it out.

Post by: Leggett on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 07:43:33 so, the stand-in boss at work is trying to get me back into work. i've been ringing the doctors surgery to try and get seen by a doctor and get signed off. i've spent 30mins hanging on the fucking phone since 8am this morning, to be told that the first available appointment is the FIRST OF SEPTEMBER. i can only self-certificate for 5 fucking days! my other option is to wait for one of their doctors to ring me, and if they think its bad enough, i'll get an appointment sooner. that is fucking rediculous, i'm not happy. what the fuck do i pay tax for if the fucking NHS doesnt work properly?
Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: Sussex on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 08:38:38 Do they not have an emergency surgery? Think mine sets aside a doc for 2 hours for this every morning.
Title: Re: so, i'm at work... Post by: Luci on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 11:49:36 My doctors have one. Think you just have to call between certain times am and pm but you should get seen today. Failing that you can go to the clover unit (I think its called) at the hospital. It acts as a doctors surgery I think. Its the little mobile bit just in front of A & E. I went there before when I had something wrong my my eye on a bank holiday!
