Title: Club Shop......
Post by: herthab on Thursday, August 7, 2008, 15:59:35
Now won't be reopening until next Monday, due to the non arrival of the new shirts.

This is bollocks isn't it? The shop sells more than replica kits, so why isn't it going to be open on matchday, when they could flog loads of other merchandise?

So does this mean the new shirts won't be on sale this saturday like they promised?

Dunno. They have football pitch carpet though. Yes, you heard that right, football pitch carpet.

I had a look through the window yesterday, loads of stuff in boxes, till moved to the other end and carpet pattern like a footie pitch.

Yeah tis true about the football pitch carpet soapy tit wank!

To be fair this is not much later than last year... we got our kit the day before the first game which was away last year so.... about the same time.

Was talking about it on Monday night and apparently they might be getting mini-floodlights for the corners of the room and everything. Wickedness.

I agree.  Sounds like a cop out for it not being finished in time to me.

At least it'll be ready for the cup game. It'll be better to have it set up properly from the outset, than to re-open, be just as shit as ever and therefore put people off going in there again.

I think they should have some of those boob models with the painted on shirts to advertise them when they do come in though.

Sort it out Watkins.

I know it's against the law to criticise the new board, but they announced first it would be open for the Cardiff game, then Tranmere, now Monday. As I said at the start of this thread, there's a lot of merchandise other than replica kits they could flog, so the question is why aren't they?

Email Nick Watkins, Hertha.

It's not against the law to criticise the new board, in fact I think they have/will take on constructive criticism quite well.

I wasn't justifying the decision, merely stating it could be a bit of a cloud with a silver plated lining.

The cynical part of me says that the re-vamp of the club shop is behind target and is the real reason why the shop remains closed. The delay of the kit is a convienent cover up. Lets be honest, if the kits were here how could we buy them with the shop looking like a building site?

*Not fact, just a possibility like*

The shop-fit is complete I think? Just needs to be stocked. Given that over half the shop space will be set aside for shirts then it makes sense to re-launch with the prime product in place.

Heard today that we don't have the new kits because of a typhoon in Hong Kong not allowing the boats and planes to deliver.  :)

I don't think it's "against the law" as it were to criticise the new board Hertha, I thiknk people are just willing to cut them a little slack after what they've done over the last 8 months.  I agree with you here though the kit/club shop issue has been a bit of a balls up.  Hopefully they'll pull their finger out and get it sorted toute suite as they will be aware of the missed revenue.

:D   Yeah err sorry about that!

Just remembered I bought my niece and nephew last season's kit, don't think I've bought anything in there before that for a couple of years though.  I can't tell you all, especially Orvil, how disappointed I am that I can't go in there today though.  I'll just have to stay in the pub for a little longer i s'pose.

It is pretty obvious that the Board are becoming complacent and generally losing the plot.
