Title: Arsenal Wankers
Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Thursday, July 24, 2008, 07:48:26
I got a leaflet yesterday through the door(im in swindon obviously) arsenal doing 3 seperate kids coaching courses at priory vale and hreod.

Seriously thats a fucking pisstake surely they should be sticking to the london areas and leaving little clubs like ourselves to tap into our own area.

The kids around 5 yrs old when given a choice this summer holiday whether to go to the courses that we already run or a chance to go to a arsenal one will obviously choose the latter well 9/10 would i assume.

Might seem trivial but i think this is totally wrong

We get Fulham ones, even though I only live about 4 miles from Palace's ground. I agree though that needs to be nipped in the bud if possible. Dont Reading also do those in Swindon?

Yeah, I think Fred posted about it last year.

Reading i can understand, as it's not too far away really. But Arsenal doing it grates a bit...

Just put this "junk mail" in an envelope and send it back to these unwanted football clubs.

Like it, I almost hope I get one now!

For anyone wondering, I think our own childrens coaching courses are excellent. My lad has been going to the Tiny Tots football (he's 3) and loves it. Apparently we (the club) were looked at as a bit silly for starting that young, but people have changed their opinions!

They should quite rightly change their opinions. Ajax Cape Town start them that young and they have one of the best (if not the best) youth systems in africa. I remmber one kid playing in the under 11s. He was 8 years old. He was doing step overs in a ronaldo stylee and dribling with the ball when most 8 year olds i know are still toe punting the ball and chasing after it like packs of dogs

Everybody knows you can never be a good footballer if you don't spend your early years perfecting the punt and run. It's a vital part if the game. I bet mr stepover ended up shit.

Mr Stepover ended up breaking his legs, probably by Mr Puntandrun.

I guess my point is that people said 3 years old is too young for them to understand and follow instruction.

But its done in such a fun way that it isn't a problem. Sure some struggle a bit at first, but they get the hang of it.

Unfortunately I think Batch Jr may inherit his dads 'silky' skills. But I'm willing to put his right foot in a bucket of concrete during practice to produce that left footer England have always strived for!

On this subject, is it right that Southampton have a satellite academy in Bath?

Apparently sides on the coast are allowed one of these, as the 60 mile radius (or whatever it is) doesn't really benefit when half of that catchment area is wet.

In my wankers arsenal I have:

Razzle circa May 1991 with June from Brownsandwich
Lubrication Jelly
Kleenex (moisturised and handbag sizzed)
A fleshlight affectionately nicknamed Fatbury
Small Philippino clean-up boy  :eatkf:

On a serious note has anyone complained to the FA and dropped the club a heads up to do the same?

It does appear a step over the line and it does need to be nipped in the bud.  I seem to recall from my days in Chester there was a similar hoohaa about Liverpool running courses in the Town and the Council with Chester football club set-up their own official coaching scheme and stopped the scousers running their courses on their patch.

I’ve no idea how they could unless there is a license or permission required?

They may miss out on the next Billy The Fish. Fools.

Mind you, the Spanish have probably got him from our waters already.

How much are the FITC courses as I have thought before about taking my nephew along when I have a day off and the courses are running, he is only 5 and enjoys playing football so thought maybe it is something to look at for him ?

The half-term one was about 45 quid iirc for 3/4 days, but I think they get booked up pretty heavily in advance so I'd ring and ask if I were you

Man'ure were running a course for under 12's at Ridgeway School last year. Pissed me off no end, mainly because STFC had not been there to push the course?

Not too sure to be honest.  I know 2 of the yoofs have joined Ajax Amsterdam and a third is on trial there at the moment.

My nephew did one of those Arsenal trials and ended up playing for Swindon which is I guess what happens to a few so it's not all bad.
