... just watched him hit an awesome 152* from 58 balls against Sussex.

16 sixes and 10 fours.

Mental.

Beat me to it Rich.  Although a short boundary a good 10 of them went out the ground.

Just brilliant. He'd never managed a 50 before,

I liked his determination to keep the ball too.

The bowling effort by Sussex was just plain bizarre at times but it was an amazingly entertaining knock all the same.

Sussex 94-6 in reply thus far.

Whilst you lot were vegetating in front of the goggle box i was actually at one of the games

Saw Middlesex regain top spot against Kent,i acually enjoyed it :o Saw some good hitting, good fielding, good bowling and almost got hit by the ball when a huge six came our way.Tense finish with the Middle hanging on at the end.Really hope they can get into the next stage, would be great.Still not expecting it though, well it is Middlesex after all :soapy tit wank:

I was contemplating going to Durham's Twenty20  match yesterday but it was raining so thought I'd save my money for a sunny day! Although I'm happy I got to watch the Napier knock  :P

Off to Grace Road on Friday to watch Leicestershire play the Sheep Shaggers.  Here's to sun and beer (oh, and maybe some cricket...although the way Leicester are playing there'll be precious little of that).

Another win for the mighty Middle tonight, always pleasing to beat the Slurry :D Going into the quarter final stage in a good run of form.

I'd consider getting one of the pink Middlesex shirts but for the fact they have Northern Rock all over them  How the hell can Northern rock still afford to sponsor anyone?

... Newcastle are still sponsored by them too (I think)

Kommandant Napier hit 18 before being bowled by Dimitri Mascarenhas tonight.

Clearly having Northern Rock on your shirt is better than having Alastair Darling's head plastered over your top......

I was pulling for Branson to take over the Rock, 'cos then half the population of Newcastle would be walking round with "Virgin" on their chest, which would give me a peverse amusement.

:soapy tit wank: I'd enjoy that

In fairness I've never lived in a city with so much football merchandise - previous record was Plymouth residents wearing Liverpool shirts.

Middle,middle,middle,sex,sex,sex ;D

Most impressed with the lads performance last night.Dawid Malan was amazing, never thought i'd see a Middlesex player get a century like that. And to win the game after having such a awful start, unbelivable!

Didn't enjoy the Oval though. The ground is good, looks impressive and lots of leg room. But i have never been frisked before a county game before >:( Why they saw fit to it i just don't know. And to cap it all i went to the concourse at the end of the first innings to go to get an ice cream, when i tryed to return to my seat a jumped up Green team member at the bottom of the stairs wanted to see my ticket which i had left in my bag by my seat, now obviously it normally wouldn't be a problem but it was unreserved seating ??? Very confusing, have zero desire to go back there. Its all much more civilized at Lords.

Anyway Finals day at the Rose bowl now.Not sure if i'll be going as ticket numbers are resticted and its £45-50 a ticket. But they have done brilliantly to get to the day and i'm well chuffed :)

Looking at wangling some finals day tickets now...

Yeah I saw that Napier isnt included ... but Saj Mahmood (who I thought was awful again last night) IS!!

Too many favourites in this England squad ...

Dawid Malan looks like one for the future too - brilliant performance by Middlesex -- can Kent make it 3 Southern County teams to the semi finals tonight (or tomorrow looking at the weather!)

Saj Mahmood isn't good enough as we've seen before. But Flintoff will come back into the side provided he stays fit so there is no need for a Napier to be in the squad as well, particularly if you've got Mascarenhas and/or Wright who can give it some tap too albeit not consistently at international level.

I heard Goughie's cricket night on Radio 5 last thursday and he was singing the praises

of Saj Mahmood.Goughie reckoned he was the most improved bowler on the circuit and

had still kept his pace.

Saj is bowling up and over 90mph still. Needs to sort his radar out though.

Thought Joe Denly might have been given a look but he has time on his side.

2 weeks in the spotlight doesn't change the fact Napier is shit and generally can't get anywhere near Essex's 4 day side.

Might have done enough for a reasonable IPL contract though.

Napier's strength is that he's technically very correct in playing shots through the V arc.

His weakness is that he's very weak against spin.Maybe with the SA pace attack he'd be

worth trying in 20/20  or 50 over games, as he'd have a greater impact.

Malan definately has a touch of class and is one to watch. He scored a very good 60

against SA at Uxbridge in the recent tour match.

But you were something else before you were Mclovin weren't you?Its all sssooo confusing!

I've got a finals ticket, helps that my bloke is a Middlesex member,oh and that he's brilliant of course!

Just left with the big issue of which team we're going to have to face, seeing as the ECB and Yorkshire have managed to make a monumental fuck up with the first quarter final. Why is it all cricket administrators are such a bunch of useless knobs!

BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!! :cloud9:

Absolutely fantastic day out at the Rose bowl yesterday and what a final, really thought we'd cocked up in the last over when those over throws happened, but Henderson held his nerve and we won, simple as.Still can't believe it :wotjump:

Congratulations Larwood,fantastic final and what a finish.With 6 runs needed by Kent,with 3 balls
remaining, you had to fancy them, but sport is unpredictable as Middlesex held their nerves.Couldn't
believe the overthrow saga. What drama  :)

Fair play to Middlesex. Really thought Kent would win it again but oh well. Both teams will get a place in the Champions League anyway.
