Title: Crying. Post by: herthab on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 13:00:12 With all the media attention regarding Terry and Ronaldo blubbering like big girls last Wednesday night, I was wondering if any of you had ever shed a tear at football before?
I admit my eyes were a little moist at Ashton Gate, when our draw confirmed the fact we'd be playing 4th tier football........ I also had damp eyes when we suffered the double relegation in 1990 (But that was more to do with anger and frustration) I've never cried with joy though, I don't really understand that...... Title: Crying. Post by: Arriba on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 13:02:21 nope i aint.
Title: Crying. Post by: fatbury on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 13:03:42 When we got to the Premier League ... after all the 1990 stuff it got emotional! thats the only time for me

shed a little tear Title: Crying. Post by: larwood on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 14:09:43 Said it before and will no doubt say it again. But i cryed, nay sobbed like a baby when we beat Peterbrough at home in the 2000/01 season. Was just the utter relief whan Danny scored that goal after all the shite we'd had to put up with that season :D of course it didn't mean we were safe but it gave us hope and Rovers fucked it up so kindly for us in the end :beers:
But then i'm a girl and its expected that we blub i suppose. Although i was at Brighton for the play-off and didn't cry so :P Title: Crying. Post by: janaage on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 14:13:42 Nope never.
Title: Crying. Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 14:24:10 I have a heart of stone
Title: Crying. Post by: Bogus Dave on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 14:55:58 i nearly cried when we went down against rovers. and when we went one-down against swansea oddly :?
Title: Crying. Post by: DV on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 15:02:57 The speech by Jimmy Davis mother got me.....

Title: Crying. Post by: pauld on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 15:41:16 Death of a close family member/friend/partner is a legitimate reason for crying in public and even then only if you're really caught off guard. Beyond that, be it relegation, death of a popular Royal etc etc you need to slap yourself hard with a perspective bat.
Title: Crying. Post by: suttonred on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 16:26:43 Anyone caught crying on camera at football, should be identified and be given at least 100 hours community service, that would sort the big jessie's out.

Or at least give them something to cry about :D Title: Crying. Post by: Ralphy on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 16:39:44 Nope. Crying at football is shameful.
Football pales into insignificance when you think about the real world. Yes I love Swindon and their my club but them getting relegated is not on the same level as losing a loved one. Title: Crying. Post by: Bogus Dave on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 17:28:18 Im quite a teary hector though. I well up at un-teary things.
Title: Crying. Post by: BANGKOK RED on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 17:31:52 I shed a tear of joy or 2 at wembley vs Leicester.
Other than that I just generally sulk and/or get angsty. I must admit to getting emotional when A.F. first pulled out during the take over saga though. I also cried the other night when I managed to get Menthol in my eye, but I'm not sure that counts. Title: Crying. Post by: Rich Pullen on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 17:33:56 There's nothing I find more amusing than watching the montage of losers tears after games.
The Leeds United fans did not let me down last Sunday :D Title: Crying. Post by: chalkies_shorts on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 19:52:31 When England lost to the Hun in 1990 I blubbed like a baby. My wife wasn't impressed as we were in a packed pub. I was fairly hammerred thuogh.
Title: Crying. Post by: Rich Pullen on Thursday, May 29, 2008, 20:12:21 Brighton in the Play-Offs was the only time I felt so gutted there maybe a chance of a tear.
I then went into a Jack Daniels fueled amazing journey of recovery. Title: Crying. Post by: DMR on Friday, May 30, 2008, 07:33:06 England WC 1998 made me a bit bleary eyed but I was only a wee nipper, fucking Argies.
Title: Crying. Post by: janaage on Friday, May 30, 2008, 07:39:08 Crying as a wee nipper though Dave is different, as you don't know how to react. What did you used to do when you didn't get your own way as a little one - cry (probably) so what do you do if your team lose - cry.
But as a grown man it's a bit different. As Rich P says the Leeds fans who cryed on Sunday were a disgrace. There was one mid twenties chap absolutely cracking up about it, real over the top crying like he'd just seen his mother raped and butchered. FFS man get a grip it was only a L1 play off final!!! Title: Crying. Post by: leefer on Friday, May 30, 2008, 08:42:39 Sorry Guys,,,,dont agree, everyone is different, ive cried at footy, when we lost in the semis at Bolton i shed a tear,to some people footy is life and death.....ime not a real royalist but i got upset when Diana died along with millions of others, they cant all be soft, weve all got different levels of emotion, and it seems i must have a low threshold for it!
Title: Crying. Post by: janaage on Friday, May 30, 2008, 08:56:40 You cried when Diana died??? My God man, that was one of the most embarrassing weeks for Great Britain in our history!! What a nation of pansies we looked!! I never did get the nation's infatuation with her. I suppose the media did a good job on a huge number of the population as far as she was concerned.
An event like September 11 was far more emotional than some silly moo who wasn't wearing a seat belt dying in a car crash. Title: Crying. Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Friday, May 30, 2008, 09:44:18 No it was not Jan. 9/11 was bought on from years of jumped up yank cunts trying to ride rough shot over all the nations and as bad as it was it was allways going to happen.
I was lucky to meet Diana at pmh where my nan worked and it was my nans birthday, Diana came in had a chat came back 5 mins later with a bunch of flowers and wished my nan happy birthday. I think she was a lovely woman and think it is natural that some people cried over that. Title: Crying. What a shame thousands of normal people (both American and non American) had to suffer and die because of that then DRS. You telling me seeing people have no choice but jump from xxx floor to their certain death was less upsetting than hearing about some bird die in a car crash? Seeing the images of fireman risk their lives to try and achieve the impossible wasn't more emotional than someone die in an accident? Title: Crying. Title: Crying. Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Friday, May 30, 2008, 10:15:01 Never cried about football, no matter how gutting the defeat is you should deal with it as there is always another game and another chance to overcome it.
Title: Crying. Post by: Melksham Red on Friday, May 30, 2008, 11:18:15 Never actually cried but have come close. The demotion in 1990 and the Brighton play-off defeat spring to mind. Almost tears of joy in 1993.
I always feel more like smashing things up rather than crying to be honest. You have to release that frustration somehow. Title: Crying.
