Post by: Dazzza on Friday, April 29, 2005, 17:59:37
where I want to be.

Sure Reg and possibly a few more of the older generation will remember this little gem of a country.  Sums up the brilliance of British ingenuity and eccentricity in one fell swoop.

Fantastic read really worth checking out…

Nice site.

Great tax fiddle and a way to make serious hard cash.

None of them seem to have been half as successful or long lasting as Sealand.

Some of the scams remind me of buying up titles.  A great one I caught on TV a year or so back saw a seemingly worthless title go for a fair whack at auction.  No one was quite sure why until it emerged that the title came with the right to tax all those passing on a small area of land.  Right where a posh estate had been built, the chaps then went on to legally tax these outraged Daily Mail readers who if they wanted to ever leave their estate again had to cough up.
