I think this is pretty disgraceful to be honest.  An open top bus tour is one of the best ways of thanking those fans that spend a fortune every season following their club around the country.  

I think they should be made to do it, like it or not. I'd be mightily annoyed if that happened to us.

I agree with the club over this.  Surely WBA should be concentrating on becoming a main stay of the top flight, not celebrate a promotion sandwiched between two relegations.

It's fair enough for clubs like us, or Bristol City that only go up once in a blue moon, but this would be the third open top bus tour in six years for the baggies!!

I'm ok with the club on this. As they said, they had a full house to celebrate at the weekend, and to cover lady's point surely the vast majority of the travelling supporters would have been there.

That means we're down to pleasing the plastics and a few who couldn't get in

The Baggies have been bouncing  up and down from the championship and premiership for the past few years though as said above.

Do big clubs have an open top bus for every single trophy they win? Real Madrid must have their own bus company if so.

They did celebrate going up, at the ground.  What's the problem with that?  Sunderland, on Roy Keane's instruction, did the same when they went up.

Frankly it's a lame excuse. All they needed to say was that they were going to put the money and efforts into next season to secure stability in the Prem and it would have been a valid reason.

It just comes across as they couldn't be bothered.

To be fair, there was also the valid point about players wanting to go home to see family etc. Considering half the squad is probably foreign so I think that's fair enough. Can't remember who made that comment though, may not have been the club?!

I think that excuse translates as "Our players have been on the lash since Saturday and not only can we not find half of them but a good few don't even remember their own names, much less that they play for a side that's just been promoted. Frankly, if we made go round town on top of an open-top bus, they'd only vomit on passers-by anyway, the state they're all in, so probably best if we pass, thanks very much"

why didn't they just say that? so much easier.

Have you been to West Brom?  The players probably just don't fancy another outing around it.

 In some ways its a bit like if SBC had offered us a bus for last season.....some fans wanted it, but the consensus seemed to be..we haven't really done much by finishing 3rd in the lowest tier of the FL.

 Think the Baggies feel the same after 2 other promos, have failed...staying up should be celebrated not going up.

I dont think they will be. Stoke, Play-off winners, and whoever stays up out of fulham, reading and brum will be more likely imo. All depends on who they buy in the summer of course.
