Nah all you cunts should be made to work this Sunday. You've got Monday off, isn't that enough?

I'm pissed off that I've got to go to this fucking christening. I want to have a fun Sunday.

There better be post drinking and a telly to watch the Snooker. Annoying that I'll be in Sheffield with the possibility of not being able to watch the Snooker.

You bastards, I get to spend the morning pretending to believe in god in front of a priest or vicar or something. Hopefully they'll be an opportunity for much drinking in the afternoon. There better be. How can I be responsible for my nephews moral upbringing without several Guinnesses and a few bottles of wine in me?

Oh and fags. Someone there better shout me smokes or I'll go mad.

Is it better to burn out than to fade away? I imagine fading away could be quite enjoyable. As long as there's expensive wine served in pint glasses involved.

I know....

....The World is not Enough was where Bond got a bit too unrealistic. GoldenEye was probably the last one I actually enjoyed.

Tomorrow Never Dies is ok, The World is not Enough and Die Another Day were pretty poor, esp Die Another Day.....Casino Royale wasnt much better.

Yay.

I like tomorrow never dies, especially with the thinly veiled R. Murdochness. The remote control car + crazy mobile thing, wasn't that unrealistic. Unlike Die Another Day which is better forgotten.

I like (the new, proper bond film) Casino Royale, although I think they're starting to put pressure on Bond becoming a bit more emotional. It's been done with On her Majesties Secret Service, but I think it should have some fairly extreme events for Bond to show proper emotion, especially if it's going to effect his performance in his job.

Tomorrow Never Dies was a good film, but not as good as GoldenEye before it....but since then its been a bit crap.

Die Another Day in my opinion is by far the worst one, too over the top and un-realistic and in some cases even hard to follow!

I didnt like Casino Royale, I can see what angle they were going for 'Bond before he was Bond' or what 'made Bond Bond' but without the usual chases, gadgets etc it just doesnt feel like a Bond film. You know the catch phrases and wise cracks arent there, last of all I dont like Daniel Craig as James Bond, good actor yes....but James Bond isnt a bodybuilding, wax chested blonde man....he's dark and has a hairy chest!

Maybe thats just me, too much of a tradionalist but they do try to change Bond every now and again. In the Dalton films he's completley different, a bit edgier.....

I sort of see what you're getting at, but I think in some ways Craig has been playing much more of a classic bond, definitely compared to    Pierce Brosnan anyway.

It does make a bit of a random mix though. I don't really take much interest in the fact he's supposed to be just learning and stuff. I mean it's not as if the bond series has had that much continuity.

There are continuity errors all over the place, like there is with most long running things.

I think the only real thing is that Casino Royale is James Bonds first outing.....before Dr. No.....then its just an order.....

I mean in Dr. No he doesnt know Felix Lighter but he just introduced to him in Casino Royale....

I liked Pierce Brosnan as Bond, I just felt he got lumbered with some really crap films towards the end. Would have been bloody weird if he'd done Casino Royale though....

To be honest, I've only watched Casino Royale once were as I must have watched the others hundreds! and some of them do grow on me the more I watch them....be interesting to see what the new one is like.....but if you judge a book by its cover then the name alone makes it seem like its going to be a bit rubbish!

There's no point picking holes in the continuity because there isn't any. Felix Lighter is an ace character though. He's got a bond-girl-ish name but is a bloke. Makes you think that JB might swing both ways.

I like the fact that Bond Films don't have much of a hang-up about contradicting themselves, but will still throw in a previous film reference now and again, just for the fans sort of thing. I am weary that they might go a bit far with the new films and the whole series "reboot" thing. To be honest, as long as they're fun Bond style adventures, and they don't go to far and start just remaking the old films, it could be fun.

I'd like to see Blofeld appear, but isn't there legal issues about who actually invented the character? I remember reading up on it several years ago, it was probably before Casino Royale came out.

I know what you mean, the films are usually a good couple of years apart and unlike say Star Wars they arent supposed to exactly follow on one after another....and most people dont treat them as such.....most take them one at a time.....and most of them, if not all of them are very enjoyable.

I dont think i'd watch the flims if they ever did re-make the older ones, I still like the older ones much better than most of the newer ones by a long way.

No idea on the Blofeld issues, but didnt he get killed in For Your Eyes Only....

I think that Blofeld got killed a couple of times, wasn't there a whole double, look-a-like thing in Diamonds are Forever?

The old films are still the best. They have that ace "Bond will always win" factor about him. He's a bit like Doctor Who.

In Diamonds are Forever, there are two people who have had surgery to look some one else.....Bond Kills one of them but I think the other gets away in the end and somewhere between there and For Your Eyes only ends up with a bald head again and in a wheel chair!

At least (depending where you go) you're earning quicker than you can drink.

I used to quite often finish working at my dad's place for £6.50 an hour, only to go and spend £9-12 an hour in The Vic.

That's the thing about bond continuity though isn't it? Reference it but don't let it stop you making a good film. Thinking back at a random one, doesn't OHMSS get referenced in Live and let die? He signs into the hotel and the receptionist says his wife has already signed in, or something. I think he makes a comment about his wife being dead anyway.

On a side note, that "We've got all the time in the world" line, is heavily foreshadowed throughout On her MSS, yet it gets the tears for me everytime. It's the one time where you actually see Bond emotionally vunerable, and despite the lack of chemistry between them throughout the rest of the film, that last seen works brilliantly, probably because she doesn't say anything.

Top soundtrack too. The proppelerheads did a mint remix.

The proppelerheads did a mint remix.

the having a wife that was killed gets mentioned in a few, in license to kill after they catch the spanish dude Bond and Lighter go back for Lighters wedding and the wife of Felix mentions something about wanted Bond to catch the flowers and be next to get married, he just turns and walks off.

Then I think lighter tells her, he was married once.

It crops up in a few....

Not seen OHMSS alot, because its one of the few films ITV never seen to repeat, they show all the connery, moore and brosnon once but they never seem to show the Dalton two or Lazenbys one effort!

OHMSS is a weird one. George Lazenwashisname doesn't do a bad job as bond. The problem is that there's absolutely no connection between him and wasshername. It could have been the best one, but it lost out with the coldness between the actors. The ending is still brilliant though.

Like I said, must be years since I last watched it. Dont remember too much about it.

Still when my DVDs arrive, I can go through them all!
