Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: herthab on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 06:52:44 ............And it's time for reflection.
What was the best game you attended this season? The best individual performance by a player? The most enjoyable away day? For me, the Oldham home game was probably the best team performance (Although the home draw against Swansea's a close second). Mcnamee's destruction of Port Vale was the best individual performance. I've enjoyed all the away days (Apart from most of the results) especially: Walsall, Leeds, Orient, Yeovil and yesterday :D Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: suttonred on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 07:24:11 Bristol Rovers home, just for that last minute equaliser disallowed, best away game Millwall, worst brighton away or barnet away. dont think anyone can disagree with mcnamee for performance
Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: Scot Munroe on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 07:53:43 Forest at home in the bad weather aswell and we battered them. Also Julian Bennett antics was quite funny. Best away game i have been to Cheltenham for the performance and Leeds for the atmosphere. Worst probably Port Vale or Brighton. Best individual performance has to be Mcnamee against Port Vale.
Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: Bushey Boy on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 08:19:57 Worst away was Carlisle by a mile personally. Best performance was mcnamee id say you could pick 2 or 3 games
Um best game, possible last week 6-0 at home, forest at home was good too Havent really enjoyed this season and looking forward to 3 months off Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: STFC_Gazzza on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 08:21:53 Forest and Swansea at home really. Best away trip was Leeds due to going out later that day although Cheltenham was a good day out.
McNamee bound to be the best game although the first game when Roberts and McGovern played opposite of each other on the wings was good. Looking forward to the break from football, Gatecrasher summer sound festival next month and Ibiza (for the last time) in July. Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 08:26:51 I Don't have much to go on.
Cheltenham Away Can't remember Cheltenham Away. Title: Re: Summer's Nearly Here................ What was the best game you attended this season? - Swansea / Oldham / Gills - tough choice. The best individual performance by a player? - mcmanatee The most enjoyable away day? tough, millwall / leeds / gills / orient / walsall - all good fun. Title: Re: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: Luci on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 08:44:35 What was the best game you attended this season? Rovers at home/Vale demolition
The best individual performance by a player? Have to agree with everyone on McNamee (and his showboat at Orient away was pretty good too) The most enjoyable away day? Cheltenham/Millwall Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: pauld on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 09:08:55 Best Home: Swansea, felt like we'd won the league, not salvaged a draw. But mainly for the way the crowd got behind the team.
Best Away: Forest or Rovers. Just enjoyed the whole day/evening out. Probably Forest cos Joe came with me and my brother turned up for his annual "watching Town get beaten and asking me why I bother" Best individual performance: can't look a lot further than McManatee, although Cox in his loan period probably comes close as well. Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: ibelieveinmrreeves on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 11:36:30 I couldn't remember the third of the 4 away games I've been to this season, I now remember it was Brighton - obviously so bad I've blotted it from memory.
For individual performance it has to be McNamee, I almost expect a goal each time he goes to cross the ball. I'm going with the home game against Swansea for best team performance, I was so impressed with our discipline, and to have Cox score the penalty that got us a deserved point. Actually, special mention should go to Cox for individual performance, in every game I've seen this season he never fails to chase down a seemingly lost cause or get stuck in. His determination I would say matches that of Peacock, and of course his goals have been pretty important. Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: reeves4england on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 12:31:45 Not been able to go to loads of home games this season. Bournemouth was good fun but I'd say Vale beats it for me.
Best away game is very tough. Leeds and Orient were both good. Southend was a good laugh too and the team put in so much effort. I'dhave to go with Gills yesterday though. Despite a piss poor performance I had a great time and it was such a great day. Run run run run pikeys! Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: Fred Elliot on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 12:40:42 Yeovil away was a great laugh

Title: Re: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 13:39:55 Good thread.
Best game. Nottingham Forest at home. Best individual performance. 3 ones stand out. McNamee against Vale, but Vale were totally dejected. Barry Corr at Bournemouth, he ran the game, great goal. But for me it was Craig Easton v Luton first game of the season. He ran non stop then got the winner. Brilliant! Most enjoyable away day. Didnt enjoy the aways much this year. Bournemouth or Walsall. Best team performance. Gills at home by a mile. I agree with Ash that this season hasnt been that enjoyable. But the seeds of recovery are there for next year. Really struggled to get over the dissapointment at Barnet. Became very depressed about the team for a couple of months after then. Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 13:46:24 Probably the most bizarre season I've ever known....memorable only for the off field stuff.
Interesting to see the Mansfield fans got to Haslam yesterday, I'm relieved we avoided anything likr that. Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Only because Mike Diamandis lost his bottle to turn up to games. There were loads of fans in the exec bit of the north stand after Cheltenham JPT game. Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ True, there was a video on you tube of our fans looking to speak to a director after that match. The video is gone now! Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: Samdy Gray on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 14:41:38 My best game was Swansea at home, like others have already said.
Best individual performance, I agree with Spencer and I'll go for Easton against Luton. Most enjoyable away day has to be Cheltenham. Plenty of sun, hundreds of us crammed into Swindon station, Fred pushing women and children out of the way to get a table seat on the train and I ended the day out of my fucking tree. Good times. Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: Arriba on Sunday, April 27, 2008, 16:30:44 swansea at home was the best by a mile for me personally.
aint been to an away game for two seasons so cannot comment on them Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ We ran riot over an inform carlisle made them look second rate and if it hadn't of been for letting two simple goals in, a wonderful 2 0win.
Macnamee, the black Don Rogers, what a guy. Cheltenham away. A few drinks before the game, a fairly good atmosphere for us and Blair shut the guy (who was sitting behind me) up in the best possible way. Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ I suspect you never saw Don play...McManatee is a tricky winger and good fun to watch, but he's nowhere near the class of DR. Title: Summer's Nearly Here................ Post by: adje on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, 18:06:48 I loved Aljofree's last minute equaliser against Orient as well as Cox's v Swans.Best individual performance for me was Paynter v Bournemouth.Best away day-Millwall,Ifil's winner-superb.Best home game for me was Huddersfield, winning with 9 men-magic.Goal of the season-Barry Corr at Bmuff, though I was getting Mex's Bovril at the time!
