Start of a Bank Holiday weekend \ :D  /

It feels like a super long season to me.

I wonder if the football league would let us not compete next season. So we could have a nice long break off football before retaking our place for the 09/10 campaign.

Will you be attending games that season Ben?

It's been a long season. I feel I have missed a few more games than I should. It was nowhere near as good as my pub protest half season days though.

 An extra Bank Holiday in October to celebrate winning the Battle of Trafalgar would be good.

My calendar had last Friday down as 'Boxing Day'. I was happy about this until I realised it was an error and I was not to be given the day off.

   Little regarded, but in my opinion worthy of consideration, is the battle of Salamanca...when it was said Wellington's Anglo-Portuguese forces routed the French army of 40,000 men in 40 minutes.  

  Unfortunately its late July, so not much good.

   I was once asked to leave the Duke of Wellington....for using the bar furniture to recreate the Battle of Salamanca.

Nov 11 surely for bank holiday.

Lotus Notes is ace, it's particularly good when it 'forgets' to remind me of meetings I'm supposed to be in.

We should have on on May 26th to celebrate my birthday. Oh wait, look.

There's also the Battle of Hastings and the Charge of the Light Brigade in October. Clearly people start getting a bit cross when the weather gets shit.

Although I've always imagined the light brigade to be robots with light sabres or something. I've got a feeling I'll be disappointed.

The poem goes quite differently. I added the "don't stop, cannon time" in reference to hammer time. What a jape.

I've been drinking all afternoon, I plead ignorance and the fact that I didn't read it all.

Especially embarassing as I've read that poem many times.

I just picked up series 1&2 for about £3. Second hand, but in perfect condition. I was most pleased  :D Looking forward to the new series too.

Incidentally, has anyone seen any of the other shows Mitchell and Webb have done? Utter tripe, imo  :|

The radio 4 version of their sketch show (I think it's called "The Mitchell and Webb Sound") worked better than the TV effort. It's still not brilliant though.

I enjoyed The Magicians much more than I thought I would considering the fairly indifferent reviews. 'Twas a fun film.

Their sketch show is pants,I hate sketch shows though.

I like That Mitchell and Webb look. It makes I chuckle...

The Mitchell and Webb programme is gash, although the Sherlock Holmes sketch (where the two actors swap roles in each scene) was rather good.

The Smoking Room was great imo

(I know it only had Robert Webb in it)

I'd forgotten about the smoking room, only watched it a few times but it was fairly enjoyable.

Wasn't there a  bird who was clearly the wife of a BNP member or something. Classic.

Yeah the radio series was better. So much better than they kept stealing the jokes to use on TV but there were good moments in the first series.
