I think I'll be betting on the Pox to go up next year, they're putting some decent form together.

I would dearly love to play them again in the league, the problem with this is that there is inevitably some element of glory coming up from the conference: Either you are champions, or you win a Wembley play-off final.

And on that note, our promotion from league 2 was arguably the worst way to go up in the entire top 5 divisions (i.e. finishing 3rd). Picky, I know.

I want the pox to get their act together and get back up again. So that we can play them on a competitive level.

I don't really want them to come up tbh, but if they do, I'd like to make some money on the back of their "success".

...and beat them, of course.

Their league record at the CG is laughable.

I think that the Oxford rivalry died a bit with the building of the Kassam. I went to our last game against them at the manor and us all crowded in with Turbo's double and celebrations and abuse was fucking awesome. I went to the Kassam, and it's not just that the result went against us, the whole day out at your rivals seemed to be lessoned a bit.

Of course they are our proper rivals. And however many crap 3-sided stadiums they will be for the foreseeable future.

I hope they get back in to the football league.

With every year that they are in that league, the rivalry dies a little more.  I know people still profess to 'hate' them, but it's not the same as it was.  Anyone who has started watching STFC within the last 5 years will be more concerned about Bristol Rovers, I'm sure.  Unless Oxford sort themselves out, I expect Rovers, City or Reading to take over as our main rivals before long.

Rivalry is about history between the 2 clubs. Doesn't matter what league their in.

I have to say that I'd love to play Oxford again. They're the team I want us to get in every FA cup draw we're both in, and for that reason I'd say I consider them our biggest rivals.

Plus that game at the Manor was ace  8)

As I'm sure was said on here when it happened, I believe Oxford replaced Accrington Stanley, and the reverse was true when they dropped off the radar.

In all honesty, I can see Cheltenham and Franchise becoming more of a rival than Oxford. To the older fans, of course not. But to fans who have been watching for the last few years it will...

The rivalry with Oxford isn't as big as it's made out anyway. We got bigger crowds against Rovers this & last season than we did against Oxford when we were in Division 1. Only used to get 8,000. Crowds against the Bristol teams & Reading were always bigger.

I'll twist your words all I want. You're being patronising and talking bollocks. Living in Oxfordshire doesn't give you a mystical insight on the state of the rivalry.

They can hate us all they want but it's got to be a two-way thing. If newer Swindon fans don't get to experience an Oxford game, the rivalry will start to diminish.

You're right, the "older fans" who see Oxford as our rivals would be laughed at by the "even older fans" who think of Reading as our oldest and most hated local rivals.

For the record, we've played Reading in the league almost twice as many times as we've played Oxford.

I've never seen a live match with oxford or reading.
