Nice little ground. Title: donny match day thread Post by: lebowski on Saturday, April 12, 2008, 00:35:27 They were a good side to be fair. I wouldn't say they were all over us, but they certainly knocked the ball around well and kept it well. Deserving of a play-off place.
Their first goal was a bit of a poor one to give away, a straight pass between the two defenders and someone got on the end and put it away. McNamee hardly touched the ball, and when he did there were 3 on him, he came off just after half time. The change looked to be a good switch actually as Paynter got into the game and amongst them, but then the red card came, which was at the other end so I have no idea whether Aljofree got the ball or not. Game plan out the window. Cox came off for Nicho, and after that Doncaster sat back whilst we huffed and puffed... and actually looked better than we did with 11 men. No beer on sale in the ground though :( Title: donny match day thread Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, April 12, 2008, 14:05:07 Quote from: "lebowski" They were a good side to be fair. No beer on sale in the ground though :( According to the OS, the ref had no choice but to send him off. Whether that's reliable or not I don't know! Didn't expect much from last night so not particularly disappointed. Looking ahead, Port Vale seem to have hit form so we'll have to be up for it on the pitch and in the stands next week. Rovers, Gills and Millwall are all very winnable games though so I'm now predicting a comfortable 12th-15th finish. Title: donny match day thread Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, April 12, 2008, 14:15:39 Agree R4E. I'm hoping Vale go down today so next week they'll have nothing to play for. Ohhh exciting.

Can you tell that Brighton game still hurts? Off to the pub now...have a good evening all, bye. Title: donny match day thread Post by: Reg Smeeton on Saturday, April 12, 2008, 17:01:57 Things are looking a lot better tonight....Gills will need to win all three of their remaining games to get 53 points....2 are away, Rovers next week and Leeds last match. We can ensure survival by beating PV.

Response from Reading mate: Were down, that was bad, very bad :soapy tit wank: That sounds like a bit of an over reaction to me from your Reading friend. I think they'll stay up. (That said, I'm tempted to head down to my local this evening...usually a few Royals fans there, and I enjoy winding them up.) The teams that are potentially going up this year look relatively weak to me, so I'd say there is even more of an incentive to avoid relegation than usual this year. Title: donny match day thread Post by: Power to people on Saturday, April 12, 2008, 18:13:40 Probably true, you look at teams around the top of the championship and any of them that go up you can see them just dropping straight back down, apparently if City go up their chairman will pump some of his own money in as he has recently sold his buisness

Why would they??? Reading didn't, Wigan didn't.... City are a much bigger club than Wigan and with the chairman ploughing 30Million in there they have a chance... The calibre of player I think they would bring in though would likely be drips and drabs of relegated prem teams this year though. As much as I hate City with a passion it would be good to see some other clubs getting into the premier league Title: donny match day thread Post by: JOHNNY REEVES on Saturday, April 12, 2008, 18:53:32 3 sides the calibre of derby will go up this season all will come straight back down.

I'd rather see them go than Cheltnumb, just becasue Cheltnumb is a derby.
